So well written and acted, must have been so tough for all the cast but especially Bill. They did Anne proud.

That must have been so hard to film knowing there best friend and colleague has sadly really passed away

Diedre was truly the Glue that kept that Family together, God Bless her a no matter how bad the Members of her family were from Tracy to Peter, she was always so forgiving.

Ken “ I don’t need to tell any of you this, do I. You all knew her.” Tim “I didn’t, really.” Sally “Ssshhh!” Like at Sinead’s funeral when they were all wearing flowers, and Sally said “It’s so...Sinead” and Tim went “Mine’s a bit pink. Cant I have a blue one?” 😂😂

Ken Barlow and William Roache surely miss her severely

let's be honest, the entire diedre death storyline from beginning to end was NOT acting because Anne Kirkbride died in real life so 😭

I cried at this episode Deidre was one of the best my favourite storyline was where she was wrongly imprsoned for a crime she didn’t commit dubbed “Free The Weatherfield one”

Ken always has the best speeches!

Has anyone ever gave a eulogy and had everyone stand up and clap over what you said, I have, in front of 150 people at my old work partners send off. That was one of my most greatest days, the feeling is indescribable, as it always comes from the heart

I remember that happening at Remembrance Sunday every year and everyone still does it now because I was very young 15 year old leading the service. I’m 21 now and still lead the service now

Sorry to hear of your loss, the pain does get easier eventually, thinking of the good memories/times sometimes helps but remember your Grandad loves you too and is watching over you and knows he hasn't been forgotten, take care

It’s very hard to film knowing that dierdre the magnificent character who joined the entire cast and crew died and that postponed the filming as mark of respect for Anne kirkbride

She died in January, so they definitely waited a while. But I understand why, to give her friends and family in real life time to grieve before going through it again on the show.

OfficialMarkC They had to permission from her Husband to acknowledge her death. On US Soil they had to do that with lot of Soap Stars from Y & R to Guiding Light.

Tim can't really be trusted to behave at funerals. Look at when they were all watching the hearse leaving the street for Sinead's funeral, all wearing flowers and Sally went "It's so...Sinead." and Tim went "Mines a bit pink. Can't I have a blue one?" 😂😂

It kind of reminds me of when Stephanie "Died" On The Bold & The Beautiful of Cancer. The First Xmas without her was so hard. Eric went to a Theater and ordered Two Martini Drinks and watched a Show "without" her. HE was so overwrought with Grief, he didn't want to be a burden to his children.

I remember Mummy breaking the news of Queen Elizabeth’s death and I was very distraught to know when I wasn’t supposed too. I loved that she hugged me and my beloved Woody at the same time

I noticed that UK Funerals are different from US Funerals on Soaps. When a White Character "Dies" either on the Show or in "Real" Life they always have a Black Person singing at The Funeral. Whether it' "Precious Lord Take My Hand, or God Bless The Child, or You'll Never Walk Alone" they have the Cast Members crying and the extras. Many of them have strong ties to Broadway Musicals so it's no big surprise.

Coronation Street has had to move on since Deirdre’s death, but in my opinion Corrie is not as good now without Deirdre; she was the life and soul of the soap. I think Ken is definitely still the other life and soul, given how long he’s been in the show for, and when he’s gone Corrie will totally different. Hopefully, that won’t be happening anytime soon as Bill Roache maybe old but he’s like David Attenborough, still fit as a fiddle.
