I really like the way this storyline was written. Easiest thing would have been to have her go mad, them have a blazing row, split up and be on and off again. The way they wrote this, with her being so defeated, realising they were stuck with each other no matter what, Was truly masterful, and of course they are fine actors who played it so well.

It was a great storyline, was this. Older couples having affairs isn't covered too often in soap, but when it is, it's devastating. Not to mention, it paved the way for arguably the most legendary Barlow family scenes of all time - the Alcoholics Anonymous meeting! 😂

Deirdre sucking everybody's mickey for years and she takes the moral high ground when Ken strays 😂😂😂

They made sally and kevin webster the same , both having affairs over the years.
