The good Old CS Corolla. On the Aussie versions they had the hardest seats of any car. They felt like concrete with a bit of fabric covering. As you went up the range the seats got a lot softer. Otherwise, an awesome car.

Good old corolla's. That's the AE90 series in this ad. Pretty well every body style featured. Sedan, Hatch, Seca and 4WD wagon. 31 years after this ad and the corolla is still a great little car. Corolla, providing excellent Japanese know how to Australia since 1966. Still the greatest.

When this commercial came out, Toyota Australia was a sponsor of the Australian Olympic Team. Today, Toyota Motor Corporation is a Worldwide Olympic (and Paralympic) Partner, and I personally hope that sponsorship will continue with the Los Angeles 2028 games.

Was a manual transmission that strange in the late 90s that people would look at you funny? I drove manual cars from the mid 90s until just a couple of years ago. And while it’s less common now, it was very common then. To the point that appropriately half the cars on the road would have been manual. If I were to drive a manual now, you wouldn’t know if you were outside of the car, except maybe the whirring noise of reverse.

my brother had a pulsar when these got updated in 92.we got 150,000km out of that before it was sent off for good after 12 years.the problems came later on with the brakes and steering and transmissions.i am so pleased i didn't inherit that car on my p plates although i regret having to wait one more year to go car shopping when i got my full license for a brand new mazda.we tried to convince him to go toyota but he wasn't keen.now sometimes drives a rental of all sorts or if visiting us moms mercedes and my holden spark.

Here you go. I did a bit of research on the first line cause I was curious too. Apparently “style ups” were the name of that wheel design and the Toyota o2 Advantage was some fancy o2 sensor that made the car more efficient.

my god this is almost 40 years ago and technology hasn't changed that much... wtf is going on? are we slowing down technology or wat? go from the early 1900's in 50 years we accomplished so much hell anyone in the 1800's would think we were 1000 years from the future but damn. we still have the same planes the same cars with worse mileage and better looking same tech if not worse.
