Such a great cover. Supremely underrated band.

This is one of the best songs of all time and I grew up through the sixties listening to the Kinks. I would not have thought anyone else could do the song justice. But I have to say I love this. All credit to Corner Shop, the whole thing was just wonderful. I wonder what Ray and the lads think of it. Thanks for uploading this.

Walked by Waterloo Bridge over the weekend and sang this. Wonderful

It's funny, I discovered you guys on a US Navy Ship in the middle of the Persian Gulf. We had a day off and the Captain ordered a "Steel" Beach" . I was on an Aircraft Carrier and that ment a few blow up pools, some rather nice last minute put together pools, Hot Dogs, Burgers on the Grill with 5000 of your best mates. Frisbees, Skateboards, it was awesome. One Guy was a makeshift DJ. He collected CDS from all departments and we cranked tunes all afternoon. My first Corner Shop song was "Brim full Asher" (on the 45) lol! I Loved You guys from then on. Your "Waterloo Sunset" I dig more than the Kinks Original. I'm a Fan! I'm also trying to move to London...Not Losing hope!! I also am hoping you may have an online store I may be able to buy some Concert Tees, stickers, ect. Do u have a Store? I so want to be a Citizen of the UK. I'm English, Scottish and Irish by decent. the family left during a potato famine. Love U Guys!!

Awesome read Greg! Some of the worst sunburns I have ever received were during steel beach picnics. Beer days also gave me some awful sunburns. All the best!

Folks struggle to define ‘Englishness’ or ‘Britishness’ and in a way asking what it is misses the point of whatever it is. It remains elusive. However Corner Shop covering Waterloo Sunset is probably as close to an answer as anyone can manage

@@kevinyoung5129 I used to like the Indian Music etc the BBC put out on Sunday mornings (presumably because all english viewers would be in Church for the Morning Service !), had a vibe to it and of course George Harrison introduced sitar into the Beatles sound, I think I had a few Indian 78s in my acquired collection too.

We find that hard to accept, as their ties with India were noted & strong, and cultural appropriation is not a war we wager. May have had a go at them for other reasons certainly. Did meet the bass player a while back & he seemed a lovely person, but thanks for having a go KerrysBerry
