Great win for the Buckeyes. Applause too for Cornell. Great energy and effort. The pace they pushed the game too was great.

I really think Ohio state is one of the nicest feel good stories in college basketball this year. Literally dead and buried they came within earshot of an ncaa tournament birth. They have a nice future ahead of them. Shame all of those teams chose not to participate in the nit. Great game from both teams. Go Buckeyes!

Cornell balled tf out, that was tough win, gotta love these end of season non conference matchup opportunities regardless of which bracket it is! Those are talented teams that just had a bit of misfortune (or just happened to be in the 'less NCAA-Bid fortunate' league)! I feel like Ohio State could truly learn from Cornell at this transitional stage; those back cuts were amazingly effective and I was happy when Ohio State replicated it in the second half like an intelligent team should, so I am optimistic about the current coaching because honestly, Cornell easily could have walked away with that game.

Idk if it's because this year I've been following literally every league (sports betting purposes lol 😂) all season or what but this years NIT bracket is stacked with quality teams and matchups! I couldn't imagine anyone making fun of these teams like they are all grade B- and up with a few A-'s sprinkled in

Greetings from Ithaca, NY, and somebody who was born in Youngstown, OH . I really appreciate some of the positive commentary about Cornell basketball but am frustrated at some of the dismissive trash-talking. As I replied to a couple folks individually: We're an Ivy League School with no sports scholarships. Some of the players have financial aid packages as they try to navigate the cultural transition to an intensely demanding elite academic environment, with absolutely no support. They all work their rear off for 4 years and get their degrees with minimal recognition from anybody on campus about their role on the basketball team (unlike big sports schools). Coach Earl is an amazing teacher and mentor who has instilled a winning culture and a high-pace form of fundamentally sounde basketball that relies on the team instead of individual units. Everybody sacrifices for the team and we'll drown you with the press, layups off the backdoor cut and three-pointers (when they go in !). We gave OSU, a Big Ten school, a major run for their money. Most likely, Princeton and Yale would have done the same thing, as Ivy League b-ball has improved dramatically in the last 5-10 years. Respect from those of us who toil in obscurity. The Ivy League can play ball. The OSU players acknowledged that during the press conference ...

Yes ! A bunch of non-scholarship kids who get no respect at their home institution, despite working their rears off to get a degree in 4 years in a high-pressure environment, gave a Big Ten sports powerhouse some major grief. They did that playing good fundamental basketball.

Cornell was 22-7 and played a unique style, very difficult to play against. They deserved to be in the Dance more than Ohio State did. Anybody who thinks you have to be a big name to be good doesn't understand college hoops. If this was Florida Atlantic from last year, would you say the same thing? It's two 20-minute halves. Anybody in this tournament can beat anybody else. The Ivy League had a lot of wins over Power 5s this year.
