Presenter Risto Mejide interviews Dr. Juan Álvarez de Toledo, ophthalmologist in the Cornea and Ocular Surface Unit of the Oftalvist Group to talk about all the possibilities that a cornea transplant offers.
"In Spain we have a very high cornea donation rate," highlights Dr. Juan Álvarez de Toledo, an expert ophthalmologist with more than 4,000 cornea transplant surgeries performed throughout his professional career.
The doctor explains to Risto Mejide what this type of technique is like, as well as its success where some cases can recover 100% vision. “I believe it is the most successful tissue or organ transplant surgery,” highlights Álvarez de Toledo.
