That burrito trick is so cool! I'm having trouble getting my corgi to roll over. I can get her onto her side, but when I try to lure her further she just goes into sit. Eventually she just gives up and walks away :/

Ok. Looks like roll over is the challenge right now. Focus on just that one trick for now. It’ll take some time. I think it took Gandalf several sessions before he got it down. First warm up with tricks your pup knows and then move into the more difficult tricks. You can also raise the value of the treat to get stronger engagement. If your pup gets frustrated, go back to something easier. Also, when you work on roll over, you can reward when your pup looks behind his shoulder to show he is going in the right direction. Eventually, your pup will reach out a little further and roll over. Good luck and let me know if you need any more help.

@@GandalfTheCorgi Thanks for the tips! I gave this one another shot this afternoon. I still didn't get a roll over, but her hips moved a bit. That's more than we've ever gotten. I'll keep working from here. Instead of going into a sit, now she likes to look straight back and her body forms an L shape. It's hard to get her to rotate from that position, even with luring. I'll keep trying!

Ok! Ya believe it or not, that’s progress. You’re shaping the behavior. That’s typically what you need to do for more advanced behaviors so this will be a good foundation for other tricks in the future.

@@GandalfTheCorgi Good news. After trying off and on again for months, she FINALLY rolled over! It takes a few attempts, and she only rolls while laying on her left side, but we got it!

Been a bit bogged down with work in my day job and recently have been focusing on opening up the www.GandalfTheCorgi.com merch store. All these videos are pretty much edited late night so there are only so many hours I have to plan, script, record voice over, and edit. Been keeping the daily trending shorts schedule but have definitely been falling behind on the long form. I’m in process of getting part 7 ready in this series and planning for two new series in the near future. More to come and thanks for checking in.
