At last been looking for this for ages, sill got mine will have to fish it out. Sand still in the towers, could only get certain car to do the whole track but it was great fun

Mine was the same, I could only get certain modern Hot Wheels cars to work, some Hot Wheels cars have a little sign on the bottom of them which signifies that they are good on the track so I used one of those, I fact if memory serves me I think I could only get this one car I used in the video to work. I also used a hairdryer to warm the track up to I could pull it straight that helped a lot too, once I got it working it would keep going for ages.

@@yakacm Happy days it was even fun when a car would hang out of the back of the cable car. Sometimes my brother and I would take the "super booster" off and see how far we could get a car to go across the room

I spent many hours as a kid trying to get my set to work - lots of twiddling with the Superbooster power setting. Only managed to get a car around a few times then got fed up. You did very well here! Still have mine in the loft. I always wished Father Xmas had got me the Corgi Rockets Skypark instead, back in the day...

It took a while, some of the shots are really short because the car fell off the track. What I did was got a hairdryer and warmed the track up and made it nice and flat and straight and that seemed to do it, I think it works as long as the track is flat and straight, I was quite surprised myself. Maybe it's the cars too the ones that worked the best were Hot Wheels track cars, but once I had the track straight it was amazing which cars I could get to work.

that's what I meant to say, in your videos you seem to have the knack of getting the cars to go around the curves on the space hangers turret things, any tips for that, mine just fall off all the time. I think there is a sweet spot somewhere in between the cars crashing all the time and the cars just going around and around without incident, both scenarios are boring, you need to have it so that a little bit of fettling each run appears to be moving you towards getting the cars to complete the circuit, that's when it's interesting. It's easy to understand why it's so difficult to get the cars to go around the trick tracks, the scale speeds must be enormous, and even a slight gap or a minute difference in height between one part of track and another must equate to a large scale difference, it's amazing that they get around the track at all.

Scott Dunlap Yeah it does doesn't it, I think they were trying to copy their style as Corgi and Matchbox were the main competitors of Hot Wheels.
