Interesting to how your versions of the cars are different to mine! In my collection I had the octopussy mercedes with removable tires, opening doors and boot, a piece of train track as well as some bullet holes painted onto the boot

When I was a kid my dad took a business trip to London and brought back what I'm pretty sure was a Corgi diecast toy of Bond's DB5. And it was incredible--it had a bunch of working gadgets: rotating license plates, pop-out tire slashers and guns, the pop-up shield in the back and an ejector seat that could eject a little plastic dude. It looks like this model is going for a few hundred bucks on eBay now.

This is very cool. I wonder if others have the collection released by Eaglemoss Ltd a few years ago. I think it began with 40 but then due to demand steadily rose to a final tally of 140. Little Nellie and the Goldeneye tank were extras you could send off for.

I have three quarters of this collection myself, was such fun replaying the Bind scenes with my Dad when I was younger, only have a few left now, thank you for the nostalgia trip,Calvin!!

I like the Moonraker one 🚀.

Went to Bond in Motion this January and while I spied the Lotus from Spy Who Loved Me that I got when I was 4 yrs old, there was a plain white version with wheels that I yearned for as a kid. I now have it and I take it to work with me Yay!!!!

Did they use Pierce Brosnan as the silhouette on all of the boxes? I think it might have been cooler to use the respective Bonds for each one but still an excellent collection! and superb videyo! lol

It's funny how Brosnan's visual features are generally viewed as the most desirable ones for Bond in general merchandise.

I have the corgi DB5 with all the working gadgets,including the guy ejecting from the seat.Also,the Lotus as a sub,with firing missiles,and Little Nelly,which is incredibly cool.Also smaller cars from Goldfinger and Die Another Day,the Astin Martin and the Green Jaguar.Not s extensive as this guy's collection but I love them.

I remember getting a few of these during my visit to England in November 2002. I picked them up at the James Bond exhibition at the London Science Museum. I have the Sunbeam Alpine from Dr. No, and the Aston Martin DBS from her On Majesty's Secret Service. I ended up upgrading both the Die Another Day Aston Martin Vanquish and the Jaguar XKR for their counterparts in the Corgi Director's Cut series, since they had more features. Also being a big fan of Timothy Dalton's turn as James Bond, I finally got a Licence To Kill Kenworth Tanker Truck back in March 2015. It looks great on display with the other Corgi Cars that I have owned since 1992. The only problem is that the paint on the LTK Tanker Truck tends to yellow with age and there is sadly nothing that can be done to fix this.

4:49-I want to see James Bond drive a new Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, Chevy Corvette, Dodge Charger, or Dodge Challenger in a future movie.

I have a vintage Aston Martin DB5 made by Corgi with all the gadgets, including the ejecting seat, but no man to go with it. Still, a great novelty piece for any 007 fanboy! :)

These look magnificent. Keep them forever.

I used to have all these models; loved playing them back in the day... So much nostalgia, sadly I lost all mine during a moving translation back in 2013. My fav was the Vanquish too followed closely by the Lotus. I heard you reference the thing on top of the Lotus as a missile (or Morsel, as that Villain Bond Girl in 007 Racing would put it 😂) but I always thought that was the periscope as the missiles comes out of boot area in the Spy Who Loved Me but I may have that wrong. 😀

Do you have the cars from the 50th anniversary set?

I think I heard about this collection a while back, I never managed to pick any up because they were stopped by the time I knew about them. But I do have a very special piece of memrobilia, and that's the super old Aston Martin db5. In fact, my dad was lucky enough to purchase 2!

Nice video! I would have prefered the 1978 Glastron/Carlson CV23HT boat instead of the space shuttle in Moonraker. Not a Moonraker fan, one of my least favorite Bond films, but that boat is awesome. Very underrated.

I have got the Thunderball DB5 but I also have the large scale Die Anther Days cars which are amazing and the detail is brilliant the best band car modals I have ever seen

Calvin Dyson Yay! Um, just one request though: When you get to Blood Stone... try to go easy on it. I guess that's the game that really made me a HUGE Bond fan. Before I played it I think I only saw four or five Bond films, and after, I went and saw all of them. While the plot and gameplay is repetitive and the ending is... less than satisfactory in terms of payoff and explanation, as well as that weird M model, GAH!, I think it still has redeeming factors. Such as the voice acting, the beautiful environments (specifically the casino mission in Monaco. Beautiful.) and quite a few fun driving segments. I know you said you prefer Bond games with a first person perspective, seeing as how it lets you step into his shoes, but I guess I prefer the third person presentation. It's more cinematic in a way and that's how I like Bond. Hope you don't find it bad :)

spectre trailer hit just 15 mins ago, definitely a tease and needs another trailer to make things clearer but not looking too bad.

I have the goldeneye bmw z3 and yes one of the missiles does get stuck behind the light

I had the DB5 from thunderball but I also had the all three Die Anther Day cars but in the larger size.

I have some of the Corgi directors cut of the Z8, DB5 from Thunderball the DBS from Casino Royal the Vanquish and green Jaguar and a minichamps 1/43 scale Lotus Esprit.

The Definitive Bond Collection from Corgi does have the Little Nelly. Item numbet 04601 from the 2000 Corgi Clasdics Limited

I own wayyyy too many Corgi DB5s...and other DB5s...i just got into the Bond in Motion Eaglemoss cars. Theyre fantasic

I have one Lotis Esprie from my grandparents house from when I was a kid in the eighties. All I knew at the time that it was a Bond car due to the red 007 on the bonnet (hood to us Americans).

I thought this was pretty cool. Then I saw that the Moonraker Space Shuttle was in the set and now I think this is the best piece of merchandise I've ever seen.

You could probably get some retr0bright to fix that aged yellow plastic if you wanted.

Do you have any of the Corgi Director's Cut or Definitive Collection cars?

The bronze lotus did not explode in for your eyes only, it was a white lotus

My 3 favorite bond cars are the Aston martin dbs from casino royale, the BMW z8 from the world is not enough, and the BMW Z3 from Goldeneye

The first full-sized OCTOPUSSY Mercedes was missing the tires (or tires) and included a little bit of train track, The Matchbox LICENCE TO KILL set also had a smaller gasoline track that was more accurate, though in smaller scale. The first DB5 had tire slashers, but I do not think Corgi even did those when they took over making them.

Lovely collection but i do prefer the Definitive set simply because they have the panoramic backgrounds.

My moonbuggy toy was gold and sold to me at Easter.

I swear to god I would have that collection in a heartbeat if they were still in the shops

I have got the AMC hornet and sunbeam alphine from that collection

Is it rude to say first these days? :) Anyway, splendid review, Calvin! For me personally, I got into Bond when these things weren't available freely any more, so I'm kinda jealous seeing a collection like that. But hey, at least I got a miniature Skyfall DB5! :)

Caroll Shelby of Cobra fame designed the Sunbeam Alpine as well. Not well known for that design though.

Did you ever do a top 10 of your favourite incidental music? My favourite is personally 'He's Dangerous' from AVTAK, despite not actually liking the film itself.

At least if a Sunbeam is half he size of a normal car, it would explain how big the hearse is behind Bond in that scene! Anyway, I got the magazine collection cars from my dad, he used to collect them. Anyway, did you only see the cars at Covent Garden, or did you also see them at the National Motor Museum? I saw them at NMM and they had loads of cool miniatures, and I think a bit more(?) than what was at Civent Garden.

I've now been to both - I can say you were missing out on a lot of what they had at the national motor museum. They had the Goldfinger parachute, AMC Hornet, Moonraker boat, Living Daylights 'PIG', a Die Another Day Hovercraft, Thunderbird, Ice Dragster and parachute, Casino Royale skyfleet model and u damaged Aston Martin, Quantum Ford Kia and Skyfall Land Rover. I must say I did prefer the exhibition at NMM.

Dunno if its from that set but, There is a 007 Citroen 2cv in yellow where the bonet/hood pops up if you press the wheels down. Also I've seen two pretty useless cars too. Deffo not from that set. But There's a front end only (as in the the film When Bond has finished with it) Renault 11 with Roger Moore figure on a parisian back ground (From A VIEW TO A KILL) & also I have a Lada police car with the body sliding off the chassis obviously from The Living Daylights. There also is a Red model of the Renault Fuego that I have seen also from A VIEW TO A KILL that was driven by the girls when Tibbet gets killed.

Bony Bob I do love the music from that game haha :) And yeah my plan is to do the PS3 era games next then work back through the PS1 and N64 era. The only think holding me back is finding a way to capture my gameplay footage... Capture devices are expensive. Might open myself up to donations!

I always wanted the corgi Licence to kill petrol tanker as that was one of my favourite car chases but I was given a licence to kill matchbox set with the DEA helicopter, the sea plane, a baddy jeep and of course one of the petrol tankers!

It was good fun and the jeep had flames painted on for when bond sets it on fire

Corgi did make a Nelly, a Moon Buggy and a Citroen, but those were not a part of that collection.

New version Thunderball 50th Aston Martin DB5 diecast has everything on it of gadgets except Corgi made one error....tire slashers! The original model 270 had two red plastic tire slashers could've been made in silver in 1968. In the director's cut version, a 1:24 scale didn't have front & rear revolving plates but had a left plastic chrome tire slashers like in Goldfinger that slides out. Corgi needs to go back to the drawing board! I'm a Bond purist! I like the REAL DEAL in details! If Sean Connery's ghost was around,he point out the tire slashers since he used one in Goldfinger! 😆 Bond....Mike Bond 007!

EagleMoss models are way better and all in correct 1:43 scale, they made bigger ones too and a 1:8 Goldfinger DB5GT with all the gadgets and a black Aston Martin cloth car cover

Calvin, if you want to restore the Lotus' fins and the tanker's tank to their original color, get high strength hydrogen peroxide cream and a UV Light, rub it on the yellowing, cover in plastic wrap and place it under the UV Light for 24 hours, the yellow should return to a white color. Also, that "missile" on the Lotus is a scope I think.
