Very well done video. I am a US citizen who loves learning English history, and the histories of Wales, Ireland and Scotland. My parentage on my Daddys side is Scots, Irish and Welch, and I am learning as much as I can at 71yo. Please, continue making these videos, as I am too sick and crippled up to come to your wonderful country. My Mommas side is French and Native American.

Frances Lambert thank you very much for your kind comment, I’m really glad you are enjoying it. I’m putting part 2 up soon. I’m sorry to hear that your not well enough to come to England I’m sure you would love it. Your heritage sounds fascinating. I’ve been to wales and I’m really hoping to go to Scotland and Ireland when it’s safer to do so. If there’s a topic in English history you would like me to cover, then let me know and I will so if I can do it. take care of yourself.

@@historyworks19 thank you so much. I have always wanted to go to England, to use London as a base to trace my Daddy's side. That would mean also Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. I do know that several ancestors settled in the Smokey Mountains, and then on to Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida. Those were easy tto trace. It's the others that arre hard!

@@franceslambert8070 it would be great if you could trace all of your ancestors. In the UK lots of people use a website called Ancestry, here’s the link if you are interested: www.ancestry.co.uk/cs/ancestry-family they do a 14 day free trial too I think. Good luck to you, I hope you get on well. Stay safe!

Excellent! I guessed correctly that Corfe Castle would be the subject 😄 It's the first castle ruin I ever visited in the UK and holds a special place for me. Thanks for your thorough work!

Well done, nice video. Just so you know Edward the Martyr (pronounced marter) The Earl Gloucester and his 149 knights, would have had a number of squires, servants, sergeants, and possibly mercenenaries with him too.
