And to think John Brzenk beat both of these young beasts not too long ago at the age of 58 is simply amazing.

Even if these are practice pulls but one thing is for sure, Pavlo is a very strong puller, especially in his weight class. Hope he gets some significant international matchups at EvsW or Kott.

@The Dark Lord Is Eternal I know Pavlo is not a bum, but there are level to this and the weight classes are not there for decoration. Corey is now the US #1 Superheavyweight, so for Pavlo to peform that weel with him is impressive (even if it is just an afterpull).
Pavlo basically giving away 200 pounds and giving as good as he gets. Bad dude. He will be a handful at 105-115kg at East vs. West. .

I am sure he didn't have the intent to injure himself or the oponent, neither to get out some frustration after being held and pinned, I think it was because that is how he is training at practice with Michael, Corey and Michael practice pulls are that dangerous and I think it gets in the instinct because he trains that way.
@Tasmanaut
Жыл бұрын
@@Charlesbjtown I tend to agree but I don't think it was malicious. As this other bloke above said, that's the way he trains. It's pretty wild and reckless but that's just what he's been taught so it's normal for him.
@LeahRobb
Жыл бұрын
I think it was pride. It was too embarrassing to get pinned by a light heavyweight so he had to resort to extreme measure to prove himself. This is where Brzenk's humble-ness and long-sightedness really shows. Recently he conceeded a pin during a practice with Brandon Allen, who then was on cloud nine. John was not willing to risk his shoulder in order to save face.
@saltedllama2759
Жыл бұрын
@@LeahRobb Michael and Corey seem to dislike losing even in practice - which doesn't make sense. Guys like John and Devon aren't willing to risk it all in a practice session. "Don't leave it all in the gym" has long been a boxing adage for a reason.
Corey West reminiscent of Cleve Dean on that shoulder-committed press at the end!

After pulling isn't competition, everyone and their dog trying to judge it like supermatches. Corey gives his wrist and tries to hold him, tries to pin him from a bad setup, tries to pin him from a slow start without attacking his pronation........... Don't judge practice pulls, if you do you will never really understand the different levels people are at. Corey isn't trying to blow through him that isn't fun for anyone and unlike eastern pullers there is alot less Ego on the practice table here.
