One of the main tourist attractions of Córdoba is its patios especially during the 1st week of May when Cordoban Patios Festival is celebrated where the patios are adorned with flowers and pots that hang from the walls.
The Festival of the Patios is in the list of Intangible Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO since December 2012. During the festival, the house owners open their doors to the public so everyone has the chance to get insights in architectural treasures that are typical for Cordoba.
The most characteristic district is the Alcázar Viejo district which we visited during 3rd week of May when the festival had ended but still some patio were open to public after charging a nominal fee.
