The KZreadr tppo also did a Mika Pikazo art study last year! Its really neat to see the different take aways you guys got from her style! Another one I would recommend a study of would be Rella, she has some crazy uses of lighting, you know its her if you find a beautifully lit piece of a vocaloid or evangelion character. Oh! And as long as it doesn't cause you troubles with copyright (please don't risk it if it does) would it be possible for future study times about, say, big IPs or video game styles? Like, what makes the mass effect style different from its competition like halo for example. Probably a lot to ask for, but I just wanted to throw some ideas at the board and see if it helps. I hope to one day pick up your art school program! I can't buy it right now, but its definitely a long term goal to get it one day!

Mika is the example of why AI could never replace an artist, the thought process when making each of her art is amazingly complicated
@hocuspocus9713

Unfortunately she is the exception to the rule. Most beginner/intermediate artists are invalidated by AI and it is a huge deterrent to people thinking about starting.
@dlanor15
4 ай бұрын
I was gonna say give it 10-15 years and even her will be replaced, but honestly even if AI gets perfect in terms of execution, she will probably still be able to rival it. We've reached a point where I think great artists can draw anything because we have all the technology to do so, and this is excluding AI. The only thing AI art will do is give a platform to creative people who have the vision but suck at drawing. This artist has both. The only way AI art will replace humans is if it starts thinking exactly like a human or even better, and at that point we'll probably be worried about things other than AI art generations so it's pointless to worry about it now. Personally I'm one of the people who has ideas but can't draw at all, and I like creating some AI pieces that look nice and unique.

@@hocuspocus9713i suck at drawing but i dont think we really need to get discouraged by an AI because even if AI could draw really really good, the result will be 'boring' to look at, example my fav illustrator watanabe tomari, the ai could replicate her 'style' and the result is decent but because the AI dont know what the thought process behind why the artist make a stroke here Or why the artist use this color pallete instead of that, the result even though is decent cant replace the original style, so even if your drawing arent that good when comparing to AI but if you can make your art 'style' distinct enough, AI cant beat you even if they do it in your own 'style'

@daze_0753
3 ай бұрын
@@Cytryz that’s also true. But we don’t know how she did it in the first place. She come up with that style by trial and error or she merged a lot of knowledge from other artists? Or she adapted her style based on someone’s else? The fact that Marc could actually break it the down by studying and testing a lot of things is pretty incredible to me, I wouldn’t have such patience or even some of the skills to do it. Regardless of that, both are incredible, not diminishing anyone here.
I had been referencing this artist the past couple of days. Marc continues to be a wizard who understands his viewers.

You can tell how experienced Marc is, the fact that he could breakdown Mika Pikazo's techniques so easily. As the saying goes "takes one to know one" (in this context, a professional artist). If you're reading this Marc, PLEASE breakdown Yeureirei's drawing techniques too. LOVE U SO MUCH
Mika Pikazo just has this way of choosing the most aesthetic colours for her illustrations. One of my favourite artists I've been studying... Marc, you're telepathic 😂
Another artist with a unique graphic style is LAM. A study on his art would be very interesting and helpful.
Oh my god, Mika Pikazo is one of my favourites! This video is amazing! LAM is also a very good potential artist to study! :)

Please do more videos like these, it's so helpful for everyone, especially advanced artists trying to level up their art. Would love to see Rolua next✨

You broke this down brilliantly! Please continue this series!✨
Thank you so much marc for making this awesome breakdown of my favorite illustrator's artwork , you are such a legend 🤗
Combine Mika's art style and Marc's anatomy and design and you get a masterpiece
It’s so incredible to see an artist like Marc doing a study like this. I clicked the second I opened KZread and saw this. Can’t wait to chill out and watch this!
The second shading pass is genius! I’ve been trying to emulate her colouring style for a while now and this is so helpful!
That was a fun video! I think this kind of video will help me explore different artstyles a lot more easily. I can see how this series will take a lot of time to create and an episode every 1-2 months or even more very understandable. I hope it will not only be about coloring though if ever there will be another episode. I'll be patiently waiting!
I fell in love with Mika's art several years ago now, definitely one of the most unique styles out there IMO. This kind of technical breakdown of her art was super interesting to watch, and I feel like this kind of content helps in training an artist's eye so has benefits beyond copying or mimicking another style. Thanks as always for the content, both myself and many others would be lost without this channel!
as a hobbyist with some already established art skills, this is probably one of the more helpful art vids i have ever seen breaking down the processes of an established/skilled artist and in particular showing off the unique digital tricks they utilize is particularly insightful, since this sort of thing can be hard to figure out on your own without a lot of experimentation and in depth knowledge of the program you're working with. it blew my mind when i saw how the secondary shading was done!!!!! super huge fan of this format and i really hope you make more vids like this
please do more of these! i learned so much from this video alone. it really helped to break down so many things!
I think these videos are great for a specific demographic of viewers, the "Definitely not beginner but still not Pro" artists... People who watch tutorials are probably more towards the beginner side, so it'll probably not do as well in terms of numbers as some other videos, but I hope you still do these from time to time... This was definitely one of my favorite videos from you in recent times, probably because I've been drawing (and watching this channel) for a few years already, you kind of already know most of the basic stuff in tutorial videos, so this is a great change of pace.

If this becomes a series I'm so down for it. You have the knowledge of art and how to explain things so well, sometimes I stare at some amazing pieces of art and try to imagine how they did some techniques. Loved the video !!
Really love this style of video, would be amazing to see a video like this on Demizu Posuka
It's fascinating to me how you were able to process all this stuff and reverse-engineer it even as a seasoned vet. It's also fascinating to me how Mika Pikazo figured this stuff out all on her own. I heard somewhere that due to how the Japanese language is structured, it changes the way the brain works in some amazing ways. There might be some truth to that because on the flip side as a slav when I look at my brain's modus operandi, the words "It Just Works" come to mind... And on that note, thanks for dumbing things down to a digestible level. 😁

I doubt it's due to linguistic differences. According to the linguistics class I took at university, the theory that your spoken language shapes your thinking has been largely debunked. Still, I'd believe that larger cultural differences can influence the way you work.

I love this so much! I've seen similar breakdown videos but really really value yours because your experience and skill as an artist enables you to pick up on and understand the key concepts (how mika uses patterns, colours and detail or space) and techniques/tricks (half tones + hard mix blend) mika uses that I wouldn't have been able to see myself. Everything is explained and shown so clearly and I appreciate the effort you put into learning another artists style! And it's also really cool to see you apply them in a new piece of your own.
