As an Arsenal fan, a huge respect this man who transformed Liverpool into a scary side, I say still unlucky he didn’t win 2/4 PL titles but had that charisma and philosophy to win anything. He’s as same level as Guardiola for me, let’s not make comparisons based upon who won what and how many.

As an arsenal fan, we will miss him, I have never seen Liverpool play with such intensity in premiership until his arrival at the club, he’s so magnificent and I wish he stay back to make the premiership competitive but I wish him well at end.

If I remember rightly, United didnt have a great season when Fergie first announced his retirement, and he didn't want to leave on a bad note (plus his wife's influence etc). But Klopp says he knew from November the team he had was in a good place so felt more comfortable leaving the club in a decent state.

i read in fergusons biography that seeing jock stein collapse & later die while managing a football match scared him & that he decided he didnt want to continue too long in football in case the same happened to him. (he said it in a better way than that, but its the gist of what he said)

It’s a pity nobody told him as the way Sir Alex and Manchester United announced the decision - pretty much all the players and Alex himself have said it was a bad way to do it. It resulted in a performance drop and a negative dressing room. So when it came to announcing the second and final time - the club waited until that could not be a factor, despite knowing months earlier.
