@@fly_speck_cafe I know. I've just never seen a cottonmouth so light before. Usually you see them a lot darker. Their head markings are pretty distinct from copperheads though, so you can usually tell the difference from that if the colors are wonky.

@@colemorgan3356 I expect that one will darken some with age. But maybe not.
The sunfish was a Warmouth, and a nice one at that. I've been looking to catch one like that on hook and line all Spring.
Here for the snakes, but stay for the chill attitude and cool “side quests” for those stranded fish and Tiger beetles from the other day. Honestly love seeing habitat too, like in the middle of the vid when you walked up that log.
The catfish definitely survived lol. They can spend hours out of the water, so that puddle wasn't a death sentence for it quite yet lol
21:57 Oh I see a not fun time there... I always forget scorpions live in Georgia until I see one.
These videos have really gotten my young boys into herping, or just looking for bugs and stuff in general. Yesterday we found our first Eastern King and got to handle it! We also saw one or two black racers. It was on a popular trail and when I told people it was a King a lot of them said "oh they're supposed to be good aren't they". That was good to hear, it's videos like this that help educate people (including my self).

I know this is a old post but all snakes are important even the Rattlesnakes. I understand we got to protect your family but at the same time protect are snakes and other wildlife.
Guy's telling the water snake to chill after he jumps the snake in the woods. I'd be squaring up too bro! Lol good grab
21:55 a huge and good looking scorpion, right next to the king, nice to see
While cleaning around our porch, spotted my favorite slug eater, a mature Dekays. Made a new hide since there were too many ants in the pot to keep. Nothing super exciting, just enjoy them all!
I kept jumping when that garter snake was striking at you! Like a dang 3D movie lol!
I take the family for snake walks on the Greenway in Forsyth. Never disappoints. Usually see as few as a dozen and as many as 2 dozen on a 2 mile stretch.
Thank you son a do appreciate your pod cast . When I was 6yrs old I hunted snakes to be around them and pick them up. Lol 👍
I love your content
Absolutely spectacular nerodia

Beautiful copperhead.
Cool cottonmouth! 😎 What a leap, Noah... great catch! Good eyes 👀 Caitlin. Gorgeous Green Treefrog. Nice Chain King at the end.
The green frog is too cute!! Taking a nap!! 🐸☺️
I'm sure you knew at 21: 53 to the right of the eastern king something under some leaves something (a scorpion?) turned and scooted away? Coool!
That was a bullhead catfish one of the only catfish that is native to America and there aren't many left good job
Love you’re videos
I used to always flip things over to check for snakes underneath. Cool video!
Gonna go herping later this week (weather dependent) in Harbison state forest SC, a spot also known for having an abundance of scorpions. I'll be out there with my trained EMT and reptile lover friend. Wish us luck! You're also welcome to stop by, though I know it's a bit of a trek for you.
Very cool vid! I'm happy I stumbled upon your channel!

I picked up a cottonmouth out in Florida when I was younger....it later bit my grandfather and sent him to hospital
Beautiful 👍
I love watching your videos and would absolutely love to go with you or someone like you one day but I would drive you crazy with so many questions I love to learn new things
Found a Dekay's Brown Snake in my backyard last week. Cool little guy. I had never seen one before and i don't really know my snakes as well as i'd like (but learning). They have an interesting pattern, and i wanted to be sure what kind of snake it was living in my backyard. Not knowing what i was looking at i thought it might have been a baby Timber Rattlesnake, although after doing some research that clearly wasn't the case. Neat little snakes though.

Love the vids bro , proud to say I’m the fifth person in my state to have a female spotted anaconda for conservation, so now I have the three largest species in the world..anaconda, reticulated python, & Burmese.. come to Nashville & looks for some snakes !
My property is covered in copperhead, but I've found them to be very mellow. I think you would have to step on most to get bit.
I live near the Atlanta area. I’m 17 about to be 18 I love snakes I grew up the past like two three years watching your videos and it made my love for snakes I was wondering if you could herp with me sometime because I never as much snakes as you do
That blue gill type fish looked like a war mouth.
before he passed away i was helping my grandad work on his property clearing wood and stuff..all of a sudden i heard him say uh oh i just got bit. It was a copperhead and we were in the middle of nowhere i had to get him on a 4 wheeler and get him to a clinic. I looked at his hand and said you better take your wedding ring off, when he did his hand and arm swelled up like a damn watermelon it was crazy looking.
I’m glad you can thumb fish

I’m also not a moron. And I’m not accusing you of anything to clarify, but as a father of girls I’m sure you understand my reasoning. I have a reason for things I do and do not include in my videos, on the contrary some might consider it rude to assume that I don’t. But as Holly said above, there’s an abundance of snake loving females on the internet and quite a few make appearances in my videos. Prying about it just came off suspicious, I’m not trying to be rude here.

@@NKFherping yeah it’s extremely weird. I figured if there’s one person who would have seen one in this area it would be you. My grandfather’s family used to own a large farm on nickajack creek in south Cobb and he told me he saw them occasionally in the 50s as a kid. but I spent my whole childhood growing up playing in that creek daily and only saw water snakes and an occasional copperhead. The habitat is perfect but there is just some weird repellent for cottonmouths apparently.

Wanna start off by saying that I love the content! Could you possibly show us/me more frogs and turtles? Love seeing those types of animals. Love from Sweden
Regular herper in West Texas around the Lubbock area. Right down the road from the Palo Duro canyon. I've always just flipped at whatever times I'm out, is there a better time to flip for reptiles? You always make comments about the weather and temperatures and I just wanna know your thought process.
Dude. I find snakes that are shedding in your hand fascinating and I’ve seen two so far on your channel which you didn’t record. Is there a reason you don’t record such a rare and fascinating natural and satisfying thing? You showed half a shed once but the water snake you caught on this video you didn’t show at all. Please film the next one for us. We who herp vicariously through you would love to see it. Keep up the awesome work.
You said people get tired of seeing copperheads on the road at night. I never see them on the road. When do I want to be out on the road to see them?
So what I thought was a king snake in my yard may have been something else. She was black on top with yellow spots on the underside.
I went fishing last week not going to say where nice big pond lots of black bass and man I want to get a big one to add to my bass collection on my wall unfortunately they were like a half a dozen copperheads swimming in the pond I caught on a lower because I was top water fishing unfortunately I couldn't get my lower back so I cut the line the next two came up on the bank and I shot them with my 45 lc shot shells.
