I hate how wearing pads has become uncool. Especially on giant bowls like this. I'll never forget going to Kona skate park in the 80's and the first thing I saw was a dad carrying his kid inside that was having a seizure because he had slammed on the big bowl. Kid was MESSED up.

Back in the day they used to end it in a regular street course competition if im not misstaken. And that was the thing the rest was built upon. Feels like that part took the backseat, now its about just having fun and as Woody said, if you survive you win🤣

@@BigLRob had to look it up, 2007. Fellt like even earlier. Apperantly it started about when i was skating as most. Was gonna go there like 2008-2010, had som friends go but i never made it there. Think it was only like 2 days then, 1 day for warmup chill and party, then comp the next day.
