These panther platforms, the town car, crown vics, grand marquis are tanks! These cars were very reliable and with good maintenance they can outlast just about anything made right along with the older toyotas. Its no surprise to get in a town car taxi and see 400k on them with no issues. These panther cars are my favorite there easy to work on, ride nice, have plenty of room, and though the 4.6 may not be crazy strong, its enough to get you out of the way and last along time doing so. Good find!!!

The fire probably started at the dealer! They were trying to charge the new battery before putting it in the car when the hood fell.

I would flush the coolant, that reservoir is melted and you don't want any foreign plastic debris floating around inside the cooling system. Great buy though!

Love the content. Your knowledge grows with every car. Your comment about matching tires meaning car was maintained well is so true. You'll find that if you find a car with Michelin tires it's even more true. They spend the extra money for Michelin tires they spared no expense on service. Great work. Have a great weekend.

That's a WIN!!!!!! See if you can get a battery from the junk yard too and return the battery from Walmart. I say you could probably keep the headlight. The damaged corner is probably going to be hidden by the plastic panel. Hook up radiator fan to battery to see if it works. If it does, keep it and just replace the radiator. Use some epoxy to make a new mount for front grill. Again this is going to be hidden by the plastic cover. Put some rust paint on it and call it a day. Save your money Randy.

Lincoln’s are one of the best cars on the road. I have had them since 1994. Never had one problem. When they got 125,000 miles, got them around 40,000, I would sell them to a friend of mine. All you have to do is change the oil every 3 months or 3000 miles. Will run forever. My friends would fight over who could buy the car I was selling. They new I took care of my cars.

Awesome deal, fire scares off so many people but this has the feel of my Volvo V40 fire car, just the engine cover and plug leads were melted on that, maybe a similar thing happened! That is too cool. Just a word of caution though when dealing with fire damage, be careful getting melted crap on your hands, aside from the battery acid potentially here, when Viton gets burned(think O-rings/seals etc around cooling/HVAC systems) I believe it produces Hydrofluoric acid, HF. That stuff is really horrible, get a tiny amount on bare skin and it sinks into your body causing necrosis and you can lose limbs from it. At first you just feel a bit sore, then blisters, then it's time to amputate a few fingers or a hand before it spreads up your arm. Seriously nasty stuff, so gloves are advisable if you're gonna get into more fire cars. Take care man, good job.

104k, full dealer history, one owner grandma ones in the condition this is in (minus the fire damage)? Also I don't think it's a '98 is it? OK Maybe not as a profit-maker, but from the standpoint of a cheap car to keep as a reliable comfy daily it's awesome. Could spend your $900 a lot worse anyway

I've never had good luck buying old people cars. When they get a person who drives at normal speeds and takes off at normal speeds, the transmissions usually cant handle the sudden change in driving habit. I've had more elderly people's cars come back to me over the years than any other vehicle driven by an average driver

I love my LincolnMKZ hybrid. Great for the traffic here in LA for Ubering, plus it’s a Select car. However, Select is far and few between these days even here in LA market. What camera are you using? Or is it a GoPro? I just got the Zhiyun Stabilizer for using my phone and GoPro 7. Got the GoPro 7 for live-streaming (not my pax...lol) on KZread only to find out that nobody knows how to stream it here on KZread. Anyone? Randy??? Do you go to Police Auctions for cars that are up for auction? I kept my Mercedes C300 4Matic as I just can’t part with her. Love that sporty all wheel drive for the snow, the traction is amazing. What do you think about me putting a turbo in the Mercedes? The warranty is expired now through Mercedes. Also, the brakes always feel like I have to press a lot harder (hence the brake dust on the alloys) but Mercedes keep telling me they’re okay. It’s completely different feeling from the Lincoln. Know what I mean? How was “Hooter’s” yesterday. 🤣 UberGirlPaula LA 💖

Sub the purchase and any parts to repair and *maybe* some if anyone runs a carafax if it shows rebuild title, but all in all you walked off looking excellent on this one. You are making me want to do this locally and video the results as someone that has NO IDEA what he is doing just to see if a complete newb can do this or just fail miserably.
