    I would get the fender and bumper you found that already have the correct OEM paint color. MAACO will never match those fenders off the black SRX as well as OEM.

  • @gregh7457

    @gregh7457

    yea but easier said than done. Doesn't maaco have the fancy paint matching laser handheld thingie like they have in paint stores? That thing does a pretty good job. Car-part.com probably has the correct color fender and bumper he needs but its probably not from a wrecking yard close to him. If it were mine, i'de take all the parts i needed off the black one and scrap it.

    @@gregh7457 I am sure Maaco can math the paint color, but Randy said this truck has pearl in this paint which they won't be able to make right.

    When an engine seize up, you cant just unseize it and go on. The bearings melt and clog the oil channels, thats why it seized again. After you started the engine, you should drop the pan and change the bearings. If the engine is not physically damaged, you can still do that.

    The mid 00s Cadillacs had quality issues with interior pieces. I had a CTS- V1 that had the same dash cracking issue. Now my STS-V never had any quality issues. You should definitely look into one of those. That was truly a beautiful car that packed a lot of power. Only 2440 ever built.

    Hey randy put an after market radio in that . If you put the factory radio from a yard it’s going to say locked 🔒 . Then you will need to get the tec 2 scanner to unlock it . Cost wise it’s cheaper to put a 40 dollar radio in that someone already did that what the blue wires are for they bypass the factory amp to put an aftermarket radio in. . Thanks 🙏 again for the videos. You the man randy!!!! I love how honest you are

    Good news; the cracked dash panel can be pried up in the front and slid out. The front only is held in by clips. Easy fix! Also, part out the other SRX. Look at the Sold section of eBay. Those parts still hold significant value. Enough value to make your money back on both vehicles plus a profit! I do it all the time and make mucho $$$$!

    I am sorry I am coming to this over a month late but just catching up with your channel. Your comment on the way the Cadillac had its 4 wheel drive arrangement going through the sump reminded me of my favourite BMW (and I have owned a few). It was an E34 525iX Touring. Now note the 'X' part. BMW created a 4 wheel drive system by adding a ZF transfer box just behind the standard gearbox and a shortened rear propshaft. They then ran a drive shaft forward on the LH side of the gearbox / engine to a differential with the RH driveshaft going through the modified sump. Everything else remained standard Touring specification and the transfer case had a built in bias to rear wheel drive. Only ever had one issue with that car in 3 years: The transfer box made clacking noises under hard acceleration so I put a s/h unit in. I was working at Scanias at the time and it took me 4 hours using a truck pit. Turns out ZF used a duplex chain and it used to stretch and jump. No tensioners ...

    Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours Randy!🦃 Yes, cracking dash is a common issue with SRX, CTS, 07-up Tahoe’s ...I’ve had/have them all & all of them crack like this!!😡 As for the SRXs, imo I’d take parts off the black one for the gold one (including those awesome rims!), part out the more pricey parts on the black one, & junk it.

    Oddly, I find this a step in the right direction. I would ditch the AWD SRX if you can sell it quickly, then get all the parts you need to put the FWD SRX right & MAYBE even add some value. Those are videos I want to see as opposed to passing off cars with lots of issues on to Weird Beard… I think this car had an aftermarket in dash unit by the way the wiring looked. You can get a nice touch screen unit with Android & Apple Play. I think the channel will benefit IMMENSELY from seeing these cars have a happy ending and a new life. I would definitely watch videos of you trying to paint a panel with a rattle can or attempting vinyl wrap or clear bra or other things to not just fix what is wrong, but to add value. I was so encouraged to hear you plan on getting body panels that I subscribed. I look forward to your future videos.

    That SRX had damage from the engine running on water instead of oil for an undetermined amount of time. It was a ticking time bomb. Take the parts and transfer them to your present Caddy. I thought the yellow mustang was great, but it too ran on water for who knows how long. Unless the engine it torn down and inspected internally, it's another ticking time bomb.

    You can replace the top part of the dash, is pretty simple, and the center part, where the radio goes, comes a part completely, I used to have a 2006 cts and took it apart a couple of times, the cables that were cut I'm pretty sure some one wanted to add an auxiliary port trough the xm radio signal, which I actually did with my Cadillac.

    You swap the oil pan from a non-awd engine so it doesn't take long to take engine from donor car. You should be able to remove engine in less then 22 hours. A shop will charge 22 hours labor but they aren't going to take that long to do it. Not as hard as they try to make it sound.
