The planet is actually greening due to global warming. Heating doesn't cause deserts, a lack of water does. Some of the warmest places on Earth are jungles, and the Sahara was green when the Earth was far warmer, and had far more CO2. Also, the warmer the atmosphere, the faster water evaporates, and the more rain falls redistributing the water. Plants are fine with more CO2, it also helps them grow, it is humans that don't want the heat.

Bill Gates: I USED to believe in his philanthropy, but after learning about his research to "engineering" plants in Africa and other obscure investments - highly guarded property-turned-fortress - with a deleterious impact on the environment, my admiration vanished. No different than Chinese investors exploiting various countries' people in Africa. Here in USA, Phoenix, Arizona to be precise, Saudi Arabia has been renting land plots to grow alfalfa to feed their cows - when there is water scarcity from the Colorado River. About two months ago (AZ Central News), 1-2 plots were taken away from the Saudis on West-Phoenix. In the last five years, Phoenix has been flooded with peoples from other states in USA, 1000s of homes built to "accommodate" newcomers - same water amount - and a few weeks ago, the Arizona legislation allowed several cities, including Phoenix metro, to issue permits allowing people to build "casitas" on their backyards to rent. I-10 interstate freeway goes through the heart of Phoenix, and expanded to seven lanes Eastbound & 7 lanes Westbound - totally crazy, bumper-to-bumper driving.

The fact that he is smiling to talk about it says a lot.

The complication of the problem does not solve it. I have been working on this and studying what and why this part of the Human Condition is so stagnant over thousands of years. @@President_NotSure , life is a varied education. I don't wait for ignorance, knowledge is food. Depth of understanding is looking beyond the obvious and challenging norms. The billions are not helping you, you are ignoring the billions sold on a fancy that piety of existence is real. Earn the skin you call home for a short time, make things better as you pass the torch. Read and think of just wither on the vine like most.
