For the last few weeks a Cooper's Hawk has been hanging around the visitor center at Sabal Palm Sanctary, often bathing in our water feature.
These small hawks specialize in ambushing other birds while flying through dense vegetation. As such, it is usually quite evident when our hawk is in the area as all of our other resident birds quickly vanish from the scene!
