    Are you keeping the coolant reservoir cap off as you cycle 2-3 times to purge all the air bubbles?

    That is correct, the reservoir cap should be off during the purging step.

    ¿Ha revisado el cierre del solenoide (número de pieza 420956661)? Está ahí para cortar el flujo de aceite si la moto de agua está boca abajo.

    So do you have to use the orange antifreeze ? I have a 2013 SEADOO RXP-X 260 and I’m tired of buying a little small bottles they tried to sell you I just wanna go to the local AutoZone and get me a big gallon but I don’t know what to get

    You definitely don't have to always use the orange antifreeze, but if you're changing brands, definitely do a good flush before refilling with a different brand. All the shop manual says about coolant is to: "Always use ethylene-glycol antifreeze containing corrosion inhibitors specifically formulated for internal combustion aluminum engines. NOTE: When available, it is recommended to use biodegradable antifreeze compatible with internal combustion aluminum engines. This will contribute to protect the environment. Fill cooling system with BRP PRE-MIXED COOLANT (P/N 219 700 362), or with a water and antifreeze solution(50% distilled water, 50% antifreeze)."

    So much for tightening to 75 lbs-in… I set the torque wrench to 60 and broke the screw. Can someone provide part number or screw size?

    Looks like the drain plug is PN: 250500005 Size M6 X 12 It’s under schematics for “propulsion” not for “cooling system”

    @@FixandMaintain thanks! Yes, ordered on eBay. Also, figured out my mistake. Spec is 75 lbs-in and I set to 75 lbs-ft… so, should’ve been like 6 lbs-ft instead. Next time I’ll just hand tighten and use thread lock.

    I’m not able to find any manuals online for that model. I would assume the procedure would probably be similar, but can’t say for sure without referencing the shop manual.

    Do i need to put loctite 567 to the bolt?

  • @FixandMaintain

    @FixandMaintain

    Жыл бұрын

    The shop manual doesn't say anything about reapplying Loctite 567, but the ride plate schematic does have it on there as part #56765. Mine didn't have any leaks without adding more, but it probably wouldn't hurt to be on the safe side.

    Do you need to flush it in order to add coolant?

  • @FixandMaintain

    @FixandMaintain

    Жыл бұрын

    Flushing is recommended by the shop manual when changing the coolant. I'm not sure how necessary it is if the old coolant looks fine/no contaminates. Pouring just distilled water through may at least help flush out any gunk that may have been left behind when draining the old coolant. The main thing is to replace old coolant to prevent engine corrosion over time.

    hi, where is that clear hose supposed to connect to? Thanks,

  • @FixandMaintain

    @FixandMaintain

    2 жыл бұрын

    Are you referring to the hose coming off of the top of the reservoir just below the radiator cap? That hose is an overflow hose to channel excess coolant to the hull if the coolant was overfilled (to prevent the reservoir from bursting).

    My coolant expansion tank has a thick cream like it’s mixing with the other fluid what could be happening

  • @FixandMaintain

    @FixandMaintain

    3 жыл бұрын

    The only fluids in the engine compartment are oil, gasoline, coolant, and water (in the exhaust system). It sounds like it could be oil in the coolant, in which case would be a pretty intensive fix. Here's a great forum thread with several possibilities of what it could be if it is oil: greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=112386

    Why is there a coolant tank if the pwc is water cooled? Confused

  • @FixandMaintain

    @FixandMaintain

    3 ай бұрын

    SeaDoo PWCs are liquid cooled using the ride plate (or a metal heat exchanger on the hull on Spark models) as a radiator. My guess on this design choice is to prevent internal engine corrosion from operating it in saltwater. There’s still a water box for the exhaust system, but the cooling system for the engine is closed-loop.
