LMAO living life a quarter mile at a time !

One that I just discovered on accident that I haven't heard anyone mention. If you have power seats, the button with the 4 arrows that adjusts the lumbar support can be pressed in the center and the seat will continually readjust the lumbar support. It's almost like a subtle massage to your lower back.

Nice video man. Definitely the best one of the e90 quirks I’ve watched. You really covered a lot of the features.

Little bit down the track but loved your info about the top cool/ bottom hot dial. I love warmth, (I live in Scotland!), but I absolutely hate breathing direct hot/dry air when I'm driving. I guess they thought of this for folk like me but anyway I never really payed any attention to the dial, (although I occasionally thought 'I wonder what that actually does'), but now I know. And it was meant for me! Thanks, changed my breathing comfort whilst driving so much appreciated.

My 2011 E92-M3 doesn't have the key hole in the trunk! How do you start the car if FOB batt dead?

There should ALSO BE a key holder with key hidden up in the back corner of the glovebox. Might be just the e60 or something but I've seen it. Btw Mercedes Benz W140 chassis (mid 90s S class) has a rest AIR CONDITIONER that goes for 10 minutes after the vehicle is turned off. Having a clue about airconditioning, I THINK I know how it works. Either thermal mass or they've got a damn lot of refrigerant gas with a compressor that builds up far more than it needs.

Dude, you don’t understand how long I’ve been trying to find out what that switch in the air vents do. All my friends with BMWs always ask me and I have no answers for them lol

I use it the rest heater , and I live in cali

Check your car if you leave the windows down and lock the car with the keyfob then put your upper body in thru the window the alarm will be set off

You can also roll up windows/sunroof up with lock-button ;)

Can code them to operate. I coded with Carly and now my windows and sunroof will close with lock. Also the mirrors will fold/unfold when locking and unlocking.

How do u code the key to shut all windows and mirrors and code it to open mirrors? All windows come down when I hit the unlock but it would be nice to figure out how to shut them all with the lock button

Yea the whole e90 generation comes with leds under the door handle. Bmw calls them “welcome lights”

Ive been driving e90 for quite sometimes, and whaattttt!!! Theres a key inside my key??? Lol and that unlock button to open windows made my jaw dropped.. 😅

hey man, great video... something i can advise you, is to switch the key ring to the other "hole" on your fob key. That way you dont break or loosen the button to open the blade inside fob. talking from experience.

The car will detect the battery Voltage getting low and automatically shut it off. Experienced this myself when I had a weak battery.

I have an M3 and my partner an E90 328i. They are both fun in their own way, but I would not advise anyone to buy BMW. They are both unreliable and maintenance costs for anyone who has owned say Toyota/Lexus are simply ridiculous. The 328i is going in to have its aluminum engine bolts replaced before all the gaskets completely fail and let coolant into the engine. Yes aluminum engine bolts. I suppose they could have used chewing gum instead to save even more weight, but that might have failed while it was still under warranty.

I could hardly believe it was true when I first heard they used aluminum head bolts. And I thought the northstar GM motor had issues..... notv even the chinese would try something like that. meanwhile the main old ford engine here has steel bolts that intentionally STRETCH when you put the head gasket on, so you need new ones if you ever replace the head gasket or take the head off. And they go on so tight it's a major effort to get them out because you can easily round off the bolt heads with a normal cheap socket instead of a rattle gun or a 6 sided socket.

2:29 or you could leave the fob inside and just simply pull out the key... the door would still work with the key

Shahn Cho sane issue . My switch is turned left as I know that is what needs to be done but my mirror passenger does not dip when put into reverse . I don’t have the folding mirrors also . But I think my mirror dip fx is not working also

I 'discovered' the rest warmth function after about 4 years of E60 ownership. Hey, could that function also be used to cool down the engine on a track day or auto cross? Since it detracts warmth from the engine it should cool down quicker right?

Yeah you can but once you turn off the car your have to reinsert the key.

Out of that video the only thing I don't think people would know was maybe the key thing with the windows rolling down and the glove box air the rest of it you got to be kidding me

The REST button is actually too cool your engine from all the heat, it will fan all the heat in the engine bay to the cockpit

So that light bulb looking one is for any lights that may burned out on your car, tailights, turnsignal, angel eyes etc. i have led angel Eyes so that’s why I get it. if you have the navigation it will tell you what it is but if you don’t, your gonna have to do it the old school way. Have someone sit in the car and press the brakes and put on the turn signals and stuff. I have a strong feeling that it is one of your brake lights.

your key is programmed to do that. Reset your key with new seat and mirror settings...or clear key setting with the idrive under favorite key setting.

anthony d.s I think some bmws are coded with the feature from the factory depending on the country. 318 sounds like one from Europe. If you get the Carly adapter it gives you the option to code it.

As long as you don't have folding mirrors it will NOT work... And carly hasn't enoug coding power to do such things. I tried this thing with NCS and it still doesn't work.

If you have electric seats and/or electric folding mirrors your car will do this. If you don't, you're out of luck. Nothing to do with it being european or not. It's a feature that comes with those optional extras.
