Cooking with Foraged Food: How This Chef Finds All Her Ingredients In The Wild

Ойын-сауық

The Isle of Man is heaven for foragers, like Pippa Lovell. The young chef runs the Irish Sea
island’s highly-acclaimed Versa restaurant. She cooks solely with the ingredients nature has on offer; those that she can forage on her own from the island’s biodiversity. The menu changes weekly,
depending on what ingredients Pippa Lovell is able to collect. Her philosophy: “If it’s not available, it’s not available."

Hi Great video, enjoyed watching the foraging and cooking. I cook at home a lot and love creating new flavours and recently started foraging. I collect various seaweeds around the beaches of Swansea and Gower, to make laverbread and dried herbs also collect samphire, wild garlic and mussels etc. Look forward to any future videos you make and show on line, both cooking and foraging.

Foraging is nice but should discuss foraging for seeds & cuttings to propagate to be more accessible even indoor & in winter (sprouts, microgreens hydroponics etc), especially highly nutritious super foods. That is how we progressed from a foraging society!

@@lazyhomecook6349 Hope you can make it there one day. Living there full time might be a little hard though (I would think). It's an island, rugged weather at times, isolated at times also, especially if you're one of those that can't commute by plane or ferry. I'm guessing that there's a lot of home cottage business there. Example: Home spinning and knitting of their famous sweaters.
