Foraging in Winter | Wild Noodle Soup With Medicinal Mushrooms

Today we’re foraging in the winter, in the woodlands and on the downs of Sussex, England. We wandered out without a plan, to see which wild edibles we'd find, and we weren't disappointed. We discovered medicinal mushrooms, nutritious roots and winter greens, then headed home to cook them into a delicious wild noodle soup.
We'd love to know what you think of this video, as we've really just started our KZread journey. Let us know what you'd like to see more or less of!

instasubscribed, wild foraging queer from Berlin via Indiana! Just this week ( Dec, 9, 2024; -10c) foraged some frozen velvet shanks, wood ears (already three dehydrated jars this year), and amber jelly roll after taking the holiday week off from foraging. Tossing it in an udon soup with a kombu dashi-based broth with my partner. Perfect for a post-new years come-down from dancing! - Wood Ears - Rotting holunder Wood glows in gold against all In snowy winter - me

Hi Fern great video, brilliant info as usual 👏👏 I think what sets you apart from other Foragers is you go the whole 9 yards, from field to fork and use your foraged ingredients and show the end result by making something that's edible from your forage, well done you 👏👏👏

Foraging is nice but should discuss foraging for seeds & cuttings to propagate to be more accessible even indoor & in winter (sprouts, microgreens hydroponics etc), especially highly nutritious super foods. That is how we progressed from a foraging society!
