🤗SWEETIES! Thanks SOOOOO much for the de-li-cious food, we're still enjoying it, it is sooo much! And we're very happy to see how you've made it, so we can make it ourselves and remember these first days of baby-on-board life! Big little hug from Evi and us 🥰

Sophie, Your character and kind heart are definitely top tier. I'll call this episode "Sophie gets a gold brick in her good karma basket" And.... thanks to you now I'm hungry!!!! :-) Cheers!
I have to assume that the 7 people who have disliked this clicked the wrong button or had their phones upside down. Bravo! Such a lovely gesture.
Food prep is so important when you are embarking on a trip, particularly if you get crap weather. Spot on with the 5 days worth. Yours is the first channel to discuss this important issue.

I second everyone who has encouraged Sophie to put out a cookbook. You have a very loyal audience that would snap up such a publication. What better way for a sea voyager to make a few bucks!

Thank you so much Diane! :) That cookbook has been on my "to-do list" since 2019. For our next big offshore passage, I'll make sure to take nice pictures of the dishes so I can put them together in a book!

@@RyanSophieSailing I am in for the cookbook as well. My son is a chef in Paris and I do pretty well in the house, but making do on a boat is a different issue
If you really want to make a friend, go to someone's house and eat with him... the people who give you their food give you their heart.
That was very sweet of you. The world needs more people like you.
That is one of the nicest things I've seen on KZread so far! When I retire after my kids graduate and I make it you the water, I'm hoping that I make friends with the caliber of people that you are.

That’s it! I’m looking for a French crew mate... As a Canadian from Montréal, I enjoy my food... and as much as I’m not a bad cook myself, I do know that cooking on a boat (a.k.a. Cooking with small appliances) is no small feat. Your enthousiasme and good heart speak mountains as to your true nature. Bravo ma chère!
You're truly one of a kind. Caring, Kind, Funny and incredibly entertaining. On another note, it would be awesome to if you released a cook book - these dishes look amazing!

@@RyanSophieSailing Awesome! I look forward to it. Fair winds on your upcoming crossing :)
I have learned more from this channel than any other by far, even after 20,000 miles at sea myself. Thanks guys. And Sophie you are a born entertainer, (and cook)
Not sailors but we do travel often with our RV. We love good food and for two it is often easier to prepare meals in quantities larger then we can use in one meal. We package leftovers and freeze them to use during our travels. It works out great. The small freezer in the RV is full of good meals when we leave and the refrigerator is full of fresh foods to supplement our prepared meals. Life is good. Love your channel.
Seriously....wow Ryan you really need to install some drawer slides on that deep cabinet....Sorry Sophie - Great video!
Thanks for helping the new parents and ditto on writing your recipes into a cookbook.
what a beautiful gesture which signifies a beautiful spirit! yes re the cookbook!
What a couple of amazing people you are. Sophie, you're heart is pure gold. X
Love the background music...it sounded like I was in a Parisian bistro while a lovely french chef prepared a culinary delight for my evening meal du jour...brao! :)
So thoughtful. Noons wants to admit how hard the first weeks are in new parenthood.
I love how real you are! New sub! Meal prep is life onboard a boat…any extra time in port is cooking and stashing the meals ahead! Salsa is my sea sick food…plain chips and salsa…heaven
Blessed are you Sophie!!! Caring for other people. Bravo!! 👌🏼👌🏼
I love the way you show how it is possible to live onboard Polar Seal and follow your dreams. I’m about a third of the way through all your videos and I find it very helpful as we have just purchased our own Oceanis 40 but in a 3 cabin version. Since it is stuck up in Sydney while we are all locked down here in Victoria and New South Wales, I’m using your videos and ideas to start my wish list of upgrades… water maker, battery upgrades, davits, solar panels ….. also your fly screen for the companionway has caught my attention as well. Keep it up!
Good episode. Imaginative dishes. I would add some spreadable salads like tuna salad or chicken salad that can be spread between two slices of bread quickly without needing to heat it. Good for rough weather and quick no-fuss snacks. :-)

Wow fantastique!

Fabulous, Sophie you should start a cooking on the water programme. You comment with much talent and a dry sense of humour, it is a delight. Ryan you are a lucky man. Very educational, great cooking mixed with laughter and love...Perfect.
Your a goodie Sophie. And your a lucky man Ryan. I love French cooking. I have friends in Aux en Provence who I love. But my comment is mostly to say I think all French people are the same Sophie.

Watched it again! That was a lovely thing to do. I have to watch the stew making in slow motion, i love the idea of a creamy stew. Feel free to make a curry another day!
Food is a wonderful expression of love. Great episode.
You need a Mr. D. Thermal cooker. Gas & electric saver (15 minutes max cooking time) when doing stews and long cook stuff. Can be used for loads of great recipes when under passage unattended.
Why an incredibly generous thing to do 💕🇦🇺
That’s so true,. The ovens on the boat doesn’t get very hot. I had a difficult time cooking Tater Tots which need oven temps to be around 400 or 425 degrees. My RV stove does much better getting hot.
We are having lasagne tonight and every time I make it I think of you, Sophie. You taught me how to make a much better bechemel than the one I had been making for about 35 years! You are a brilliant cook. Where’s the cookery book? 😁
Awww, Sophie you are a GEM! Safe travels ❤️

Holy cow! Sophie has mad cooking skills! I just love the French! I am out of exclamation points!
Beautiful gift Sophie and just looking at the ingredients, I 'get' how tasty they must be. I haven't bought my own cruiser yet, because of Covid19. However, I'm going to treat myself and my friends to your dishes. Love all that you cooked, however your stew looks mouth wateringly fab :)
I noticed the chopped celery in while you prepared the stew. Note celery stems and leaves ( but not the seeds) contains nitrates. During cooking the nitrates may combine with a naturally component myoglobin in the meat. When the naturally occurring nitrates in the celery combines chemically with the myoglobin in the meat turning the cooked meat pink- this is perfectly o.k., no worries. If darker meat is used or more celery is added to the recipe the pink color becomes more prominent, again no worries, perfectly safe and does not adversely effect the flavor ( may even improve flavor). However if you find the “ pinking” of the meat a visual distraction, cook celery separately, drain excess water, then combine with the stew later. - good demo., Thanks, Tom Jones ( food scientist, Purdue University)
Love all your episodes but really really loved this one. Ryan is very lucky to have a French chef on board!
