A few weeks ago I was walking through Publix and saw some spicy noodles that looked tasty so I grabbed the MOMOFUKU and tossed them in the cart. Today I was wanting a snack and figured I'd finally bust out a pack of those noodles. Now while I'm smashing the noodles I need some KZread to entertain me and this episode pops up. I didn't read the title just saw Steve's podcast and said yup that'll do. Start smashing the noodles and realize David Chang created this whole lunch atmosphere for me lol. Dumb personal side note but I thought it was neat. Also, great podcast

David Chang is a hero of mine. I credit him with my introduction to Ramen in Kansas City in 2011 or 2012. I'd always considered Ramen a struggle meal until a joint opened up across the street from my buddy's apartment in KC. What a legend, what a story.

The worst is when a whole library of recipes are thrown away when a restaurant closes and I know there are binders of recipes that go to the dumpster. I experienced it and have huge regret not banging down the door for that encyclopedia of information.

So way off topic they had a Google news flash talking about duck hunting. It goes on to say that duck hunting is dying because of the old dying off or being to old to hunt . An the young being not interested with the age of social media. But the comments went in to massively say it cost too much guides , guns , waders , ammo. Which I mostly agree. They even talked about land being loss and private land being to high to afford. I was just wondering what was your guys thoughts on it.

I like this episode. Great guest. I don't know who does the set design, and I can appreciate wanting decor that's clean, organized, and does not become the focus of the work. But, nobody organizes, stacks, or displays books in that manner. It's seriously weird. It gives the show a manufactured, pseudo-intellectual, and CNN-esque feel instead of the real and organic vibes I like about the show.

@@Verlisify I'm not talking about influencers. KZread has given people the opportunity to learn how to cook many traditional and original dishes, more than ever before. The boundaries and gatekeepers of cooking like Chang are just relics of the past now, and he's bitter because he's not afforded the same opportunity to learn from a global library. You think people aren't learning visually now? Or getting inspiration from previously innaccessible recipes? There is a new wave of cultural exchange in cuisine, and you just distilling the argument down to "Social media influencers" is such a dull and rudimentary argument.
