Yes it is so sad that Conway has gone, far too soon, but i can't believe it's been 17 years, it only seems like he was singing with Loretta last year. So sad.

He was at the peak of his vocal ability, great performance, and John Hughey was slaying, man what a great steel guitar style! Joe Lewis on bass and tenor vocals, he was a great side man.

Wow,an argument can be made that it's Conway Twitty created the "Power Ballad". Yes I know this performance is from 1969. Yes I realize it's an overdub. I would refer anyone to Conway Twitty's "It's Only Make Believe" co-written with the drummer in this video Jack Nance.
