My Dad's favorite country singer. I grew up loving that old classic country sound and I miss it so much now. I wish today's country would sound half as good as the old classics like this one.

Like I said,I've listened to Conway Twitty now for 17 years almost now,and God bless the day I started to pay more attention to what this man had contributed to country music,or even the mmusic industry period.I didn't just jump on the bandwagon when he died by a longshot either, unlike most of today's Johnny Cash so-called fans.

Awesome clip of Conway and the band... this was 1969, Hee Haw. CT had only made the switch to country the year before. Notice Joe E. Lewis, on bass singing tenor.. he was as important to CT as Don Rich was to Buck, and like Don, Joe met a violent death in a car wreck in the late 70s. John Hughey, CT's steel player just passed away a yr or two ago, what a class act. I met him several times. Tommy "Porkchop" Markham back on the drums too. You're right, they don't make music like this anymore.

Take note you "so called" country music artists of today. This is how you stir a person's soul without bouncing all over the stage in skin tight jeans, super short skirts & pyrotechnics going off. It's all about the song lyrics & the way they are delivered. Conway was a master at choosing high quality songs & then, delivering them to you "personally"!!!!!!!
