What a cast, the best Duck ever!!!!

saw this movie when i was 10 and wanted to be a trucker, one of the best endings for a movie ever.

Actually, this clip is cut a bit too short, when the hippie bus passes Lyle, you can see Duck say "quack quack" through the amplifier and give Lyle the thumbs up. Lyle never wanted Duck to die, he wanted to catch him, he did not want to win the war, only the battle. And he lost this one and had to admit it. He is truly happy Duck survived as the chase will be on again, one of my favourite endings in a movie.

Yes, he laughed cause he knew everyone else thought Duck was dead. He knew someday he would chase him again. But there never was a Convoy 2.

Yep. And you could see the sadness in his eyes when he blew that beautiful Mack up.

This was the only time Borgnine was convincing as a bad guy. He always struck me as a jolly sort of guy.

+Michael Wraight I love this movie since the day it came out, but in fact, the story isn't that great at all, because it looks like the director didn't know if this should be a serious action movie, or a action comedy, because it has both elements in it, and that's confusing, and besides that, the whole story is that a corrupt cop does get away with everything because he's wearing a badge, and they al laugh it of at the end, so in fact, it's a stuppid story that makes no sense at all.

+3DPeter On the contrary - it makes a lot of sense! Pekinpah's sense of comedy, yet realism is intentional imo, though it's not an action movie. It's an allegory on the dangers (at that time anyway) of yielding to the 'hive mind', yet equally how 'Individualism' amongst the Working Masses will be ultimately shot down as well. These days thankfully, the latter mindset has won through a little better, and Truckers have always been a bit rejectionist and Maverick..

agreed. It was perfect from the 1st until last scene EXCEPT for one tiny pet peeve I have. Why the fuck use a tank on a truck who doesn't even have guns on it?! but I have to say seeing a cop use an m60 was dope.

In the end Dirty Lyle saw through all the BS and the attempted political commandering the Governor and the media were trying to do. Pig Pen leaving really threw a wrench in the whole game plan

Love how dirty Lyle redeemed himself at the very end because we all really love him, he let the rubber duck go and laughed because he was happy to see him alive🤣

I finally got it. Without the Rubber Duck, what is Dirty Lyle but a corrupt cop? For a moment there, Lyle was actually afraid that he might've iced the Duck for good. That laugh was his joy that his rival was still alive and well, and he still had a purpose in his life. The pig still had a duck to chase! And the chase goes on! And for that, Lyle roared with joyful laughter.

Michael not just that everybody is using everybody. Governor want votes, Smokey taking bribes, slowing truck s down with​ speed limits saying​ it causes pullotion hurting mother Earth. Putting electronic logs on truck for safety but now you have to rush to your​ deliver stop.Is that safe, don't think so.

This is one of my Dad's favorite movies. Many great memories watching this with him.

Convoy was the coolest trucker movie of all time. The Rubber Duck RocksCalm on the suface and paddle like the devil underwater. "Quack- quack"

I was 10 when I saw this and it was so epic then as it is now, the fact that it even got made by the very brilliant but very drunk Sam Pekinpha is a miracle, love Burt Young’s smirk at 0:26, total bad ass.

Love the ending and Ernest Borgnine? Probably his finest acting role. Nice one brother.

For all RD and Lyle's differences, they knew where they stood with one another, Haskins was playing both sides for his own gain, and the fact that the truckers ended up screwing him over brought him some satisfaction.

Lyles look when the government was talking said "This guy is full of BS" would have been better if Lyle jumped in a truck as the was leaving.

Left it Open to a sequel, Convoy 2, but never was made.

Borgnine was the best actor in this movie by a solid distance. Made this role far more than it would've been.
