I never understand these cottages that don’t have bathrooms. I know people can walk to the main house, but if they are at 2, sometimes 3 times a night bathroom visits like I am, that just wouldn’t work for me 🤣🤣🤣

I liked the cottage but thought Ella the Dog was absolutely 💯 adorable!

I like that saddle bookshelf. You could add a piece of stained wood on the bottom edge where the "saddle" would rest, a book could be placed open & not fall to the floor. For example, an excellent place for a large dictionary, a family Bible, a large map book of the area, or even framed pictures of family members. Terrific Design Inc.❤

We see him enough, lol He can't be in every single episode ffs.

The saddle holder doesn't have a lip for resting books on the angled top. But it would be great for a collection of quilts and blankets to be taken to various bedrooms when people need extra warmth.

I loved what the designer who took over, when head designer was gone, picked out! Floral designs were beautiful even if all 3 same room, would not look 'caotic.

Not all of us thought Sarah was nice all along. I watch for the designs, but honestly, she is tough to take.

Beautiful cottage but I really dislike a few things. The fabric on the ottoman is horrible as is the saddle rack.

Agree. The fabric was totally wrong for the ottoman and the saddle rack was too long for the space and crowded out the daybed

Missed the mark. Too drab and cold feeling. Isn’t a cottage supposed to give off warm and cozy vibes? Now a days, there would have been the addition of a few throws. Those chairs in front of the fireplace are too big and bulky and the ottoman sticks out like a sore thumb. I would have allowed the fireplace to be a focal point and used less bulkier chairs a bit farther apart so as to see more of the fireplace. But, that’s just my taste. As always, I enjoy watching Sarah and the team go through the design process. I noticed in these older clips, the camera never pulls back far enough to give us a view of the whole room from a few different angles to see how coherent it is.

Jessica should have changed colors of her post-it tabs...neon yellow-lime w a client who "hates yellow"?? Yikes. Fabric-labelling is REALLY important. That's the kind of detail that is why I'm prolly neurotic. Sarah's actually genuine + gracious. More than my boss in Utah was. More like my Calif. boss. ❤

It looks drab. It needs more color.

I wonder why the curtains can't run from the ceiling to the floor? And the saddle holder was original yet too long. Lovely work and gentle results.

Base board electric heating--danger danger. The horse is an easy fix. Move the side table on the far right to the left and the horse would be moved enough to clear the doorway. No doubt the home owner did, or just dumped the ugly, impractical saddle deal all together.

Linda, they do run all the way to the floor on either side of the fireplace and in the bedroom. There's a band of colored fabric about 12-16" high, across the very bottom of the white curtain panels. Bedroom at 17:06 and Fireplace room at 17:35 shows them perfectly.

These are very very old episodes.

Interior designers who assume that the colors or styles people WEAR indicates something about how they want to decorate their homes make a HUGE mistake. Any person who is overweight and dresses all in black is probably not doing that because they love black or simplicity, but because it's supposed to be 'slimming.' Overweight people don't have a lot of clothing choices that they are going to feel good in, so they buy what they can wear and feel not constricted or horrible wearing, NOT because they are choosing what their personal style is or would be if they could wear anything off the rack. I know a guy who has worn nothing but black since hitting adulthood because he can't be bothered choosing outfits that will match every day - anything he grabs from the closet will work together with anything he grabs from a drawer. I buy multiples of the same style and cut of clothes that feel comfortable, but that doesn't mean that I want every room in my house to be designed by the same principle. I can't be bothered spending a lot of time thinking about what I'm wearing because I don't really look at or see what I'm wearing once it's on my body - my criterion in clothes is 'put it on and forget about it' - I don't want anything I have to pay a lot of attention to while I'm wearing it, or worry about keeping it straight or not catching it on anything. But I care very much about the comfort and style of my furniture and rugs and walls that I need to look at every day and that express everything about what 'home' means to me - my clothes do NOT express what 'home' means to me. Clothes that look good with my skin coloring are not necessarily the same colors that I would like in a sofa or bedroom decor. I wear almost consistently linen in summer and linen often doesn't come in patterns, but only in solid colors - doesn't mean I don't like patterns in my decor. I wear almost exclusively wool in winter, but that doesn't mean that I would only want tweed furniture. I can wear a plaid skirt and never want to see plaid in my living room. Starting with how the customer dresses is a HUGE mistake. 'My personal image' and 'What home means to me' can be totally different concepts.

Loved the bedroom, not that keen on the dressing table, l think they could have chosen a more cohesive piece.

This episode is a miss for me. Furniture does not match the house design

Very cure but just too much useless stuff. And no bathroom to me is a useless space no matter how pretty it is

I don't know why Abode keeps posting SR designs from 10+ years ago. What is the point when everything is completely outdated today?

These shows are not just about showcasing current trends. They're instructional. Lots to be learned from good design, regardless the decade. Most of what Sarah does is pretty timeless.
