That was a great video. I just bought one of these and the space in my Jeep TJ is basically zero. I never thought you could take that handle off. Real space saver. Thanks!

Looks good was looking to do this with my portable. How's it holding up a year later? Bit of advice, when wrapping threads with tape, leave the last thread to two threads unwrapped. The Teflon can make its way into small valves and cause blockage. May not be too much an issue for basic use, but general good practice.

It held perfect for the 6 months I had the Tacoma ! I’ve been running it on my Jeep Wrangler for the last year or so and no issues ! I’m running 35’s now and airs them up no problem . Yeaaa some one called me out of the Teflon earlier and went back and fixed it ! Thanks

Did standard 1/4” NPT fittings fit right into where you removed the handle pipe?

Well, shoot. I might have to see if I can do this with my Viair. Gotta check to see if I have any room under the hood of my Disco.

Could you please supply all the bracket info/specs? Did you repurpose any existing pieces? ...or is there a mounting kit available, or what would you charge to create a set? All of this video is super clear, except for the brackets. Thanks!!

I’m not gonna lie , I walked around Home Depot looking for different brackets . I don’t remember exactly which ones they were , next time I visit the store I’ll see if I can find them again .

Hey bro, does the inner tube come off that easily on those comrpessor? Simply just slide it off? I want to do this to my trucks spare battery location.

  • @ramyfarouk2617

I’d say he was trying to keep the size as small as possible. The inner air tube was just an airflow tube from the cylinder to the other side of the handle and he wanted to remove the handle for more space saving.

I had no issues with overheating when I had it in the engine bay , after a long trial it was air temperature never hot and when using it I always had the hood open so wasn’t an issue either . I ran 32’s aired all 4 17psi to 35’s. Even now running 35 and it airs it up from 17 to 35 no problem.

@@odyssey_4x482 thanks for the response. I just purchased the 450 and was thinking about mounting in the bed. However I lose that space when I carry camping gear for my family. Your video of mounting in the engine bay gave me hope, with heat being my only concern. Plus it easier to wire up. Thanks again.
