I did that about 5 years ago so my map Preston and guru fitted. Also if you get a fine blade junior hacksaw on the stem and cut through can make the stem interchangeable too.

I've been using the Matrix open alloy its near identical to the hybrid & fits straight on perfectly no sawing required 😂

I did this not long after I started using them top tip wet n dry cut mark helps smooth cut to stop line From nicks touch up with black marker if blade jumps

Brilliant tip just finished doing all mine found I had to just rub a file for a few seconds round the preston stems bit tight fit.but all finished cheers 👍😉

Great thinking angler been doing something similar cutting through the leads on cheaper brands for 2 years now.but Guru are on it now should be out soon.10 out of 10 .

I did the same thing but cut through the whole lead at the bottom! Doh!

I wonder why Guru don't have ICS till this day still... Preston have it, Matrix have it some other brands also have it. Less weight to carry u can even prepare ur rods in home and then add whatever u like on ur Stem.

Alan, I'm still looking for a stem (non elasticated inside) that fits the guru bombs, as I brought loads of their bombs when they came out. But as you mentioned Hallcroft will not allow those fixed elasticated stems. Guru don't do a simple stand alone stem. Their feeder stems do fit, but not really properly, any thoughts Alan?. We'll, done for the video by the way, I too spend almost as much time messing with bits regarding my fishing, as actually fishing. I don't expect WE are not alone Alan?

I was waiting with baited breath ( no pun intended ). If he is worried about how much bait stays on the feeder ,why not a Preston banjo ? Simples or is it just me ?

Just use the guru stem in both which gives the advantages of both

You can do this with leads as well, saves buying prestons over priced cubes.

The guru xsafe is interchangable just unhook top loop and change it But not every fishery let u use em

This video could of been 1 minute long if he didn’t keep repeating his self over 9 minutes before he even showed you
