Conversations with Gary Oldman of DARKEST HOUR
Ойын-сауық
Q&A with SAG Award Nominee Gary Oldman. Moderated by Jenelle Riley, Variety.
During the early days of World War II, with the fall of France imminent, Britain faces its darkest hour as the threat of invasion looms. As the seemingly unstoppable Nazi forces advance, and with the Allied army cornered on the beaches of Dunkirk, the fate of Western Europe hangs on the leadership of the newly-appointed British Prime Minister Winston Churchill (Gary Oldman). While maneuvering his political rivals, he must confront the ultimate choice: negotiate with Hitler and save the British people at a terrible cost or rally the nation and fight on against incredible odds. Directed by Joe Wright. Written by Anthony McCarten.

'Well I think I've been over the top, I mean I could see that... I mean let's be honest here". What a graceful artist he is.
I love Gary Oldman, and always enjoy his rare appearances. Kudos to Jenelle Riley too, though, because her engaging, and thoughtful interviews elicit such interesting responses. She allows time and space for her interviewees. I wish more people would learn from her example.
I love Gary Oldman. He is an amazing actor and loveable human being. Hope to meet some day.

Jenelle is Great! And Gary is Brilliant!
Thank you for this interview with the talented Gary Oldman. He's funny. :-) And I love his quote: "Acting is an antidote to self loathing."
I wish i could meet him once in my life! He is my favorite actor! 😘😘 From Greece!
This is a great interview. Love Gary Oldman, love hearing him speak about the film and the other films has done and the experiences he’s had regarding Winston Churchill being offered him before. He’s the best actor ever, in my opinion and I’m truly happy he got the accolades he got for this film. He deserved the Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA, SAG and Critics Choice Award, amongst the others he received, yet he should’ve gotten these types of awards for other films as well. But regardless of that, I’m happy he has an Oscar to go with the great performances he’s given to us throughout the years. Gary Oldman is truly one of a kind and can never be replicated.
If you love this interview, there is another SAG-interview with him and Jenelle. 90 more minutes of this :)
it's true that he's so in his roles physically that you don't see Gary Oldman
Great interview but it’s pretty much a rehash of the 2011 one, also with Jenelle. What’s a bit weird is that they say the same stuff without referencing the one from 7 years earlier. Nonetheless, he’s a brilliant actor and a major talent.
Great :)
I think it is an insult, to ask or to think that you're surprised that Gary Oldman hasn't to do auditions! She asked the same question to Eddie Murphy. Would you think that (for example) Robert De Niro, Gene Hackman or Al Pacino or who ever has to do auditions? The director already knows, I want Gary Oldman for this
