Ben Koller is one of the best (honestly maybe the best) drummers in the genre. He is also the drummer of Mutoid Man along with a bunch of other stuff. I believe he was also the drummer on the first United Nations record. Nate Newton is a beast as well.

I’m not sure there is a band that can articulate and project life’s most brutal, soul wrenching moments and parts like Converge. In all the chaos there is truth and absolute beauty in their music. Probably my favorite group of musicians.

AgainstEmpyre The Dillinger Escape Plan and Converge are probably the two most hectic live bands out there :)

vocals in concubine are brutal. thats hernia inducing stuff that is.

This band is ALIVE.

Ever since this band everyone thinks you can do broody technically complex metallic hardcore shit with poetic lyricism by just writing heavy Slayer meets Entombed riffs and reading whatever they wrote in they diary during high school. It is so beyond overdone now. This is a really sad case of a great band with a terrible influence. I guess hardcore was always a genre that got stale very quickly, but at some point you'd think people would get tired and attempt to do something different. Doesn't help that half of them are produced by Kurt Ballou himself so they sound even more like them lol

I noticed that myself. Stupid question,is the guitar player from Thursday..the band ? Because some Converge cds sound too nuch like Thursday(No Heroes,All We Love We Leave Behind) but Axe to Fall,Petition the Empty Sky,You Fail Me,Jane Doe,When Forever Crashes Down all sound great cuz Bannons vocals. Halo & Haystack,Unloved & Weeded Out and Caring & Killing sound like a different singer. Check out Poacher Diaries split with Agorophobic Nosebleed

I've watched countless hours of live performances from KZread... this just might be the best one. The passion, the energy, sounds, editing, professionalism, crowd - everything comes together... Jacob has been released from his leash; Kurt's technique, passion and precision is amazing; Nate shreds his bass like never seen before; Ben... well, Ben Koller is Ben Koller. Pure gold. Thank you for putting this piece of music history together and for everyone to enjoy.

Nate and his bass spin during wishing well is the best. Propagandhi is the only band I can think of that equals Converge in having a career where they basically outdo themselves with every successive album without ever really seeing a drop in quality. The last Converge album with Chelsea Wolfe might not be everyones favourite, but its still a great record.

Wow there's actually background vocals in a live mix for once.

High quality art. Why most bands don’t put this much effort and meaning into their craft as these guys do shows that they’re wasting their time. Maybe because a lot of sounds are taken or regurgitated others while these guys are pioneers. Either way this music is so crazy I feel like my guts are about pass through my skin and what’s left of me wants to thrash with them to make up for not being able to be at a concert
