I miss the slapstick and comedy from the early eps of the show. ^^; Anyway, for that scene mentioned in the video, I swear that Takeshi was going on about how it was a shame that the girl in that ep was too young...or something. Who knows. Oh, and there was also an earlier ep when he punched Kasumi/Misty in the head twice. The Bulbasaur ep.

Yeap, pretty much. I did the slots a few times as a kid, lost most of the time, and was put off of gambling for life. I pretty much just grinded the elite 4 for money so I could convert it and outright buy the darn porygon.

@@NessaWyvern I don't think it's possible to buy the exact amount of coins you need. Coins have to be purchased in increments of 50, the coin purse holds 9,999 and porygon costs 9,999 so you're not going to get around playing for your last 49 coins.

Babies have no comprehension of stupid stuff that gets you killed, so if the parents don't keep an eye on their kid, they're gonna do something stupid that gets them killed.

Niamh Preece I mean we don't know what happened, maybe they were being dangerously neglectful, but we don't know, and I find it pretty unfair to label them as awful people so cynically like that without knowing all the details. Yes though, it is really dumb for them to blame Pokemon as a whole because of that. But I can understand why they would try to do that. When you loose your fucking child like that, it's understandable that they would want to blame one thing like that to cope. Does that make it right? Hell no. If they were smart they would've just faced the fact that awful terrible things can happen without having to blame something like that and working to become better. But I feel like calling them idiots and the worst of humanity doesn't help anything at all.

Am I the only one suspicious that the parents in the last one murdered their baby? Because I've watched babies, and the only way for that baby to have suffocated was to have fallen asleep face down with the pokeball covering their nose and mouth or otherwise pressing their face up against something to create an air tight seal (which wouldn't have been comfortable to the baby, along with the fact that suffocating would cause the baby to wake up). Or for the pokeball to get suctioned to their face, but anyone who as done something similar with a plastic or Styrofoam cup knows that it isn't difficult to dislodge (mainly by you know exhaling), and that baby definitely would have been flailing around trying to get it off in the case of it somehow getting stuck (because suffocating people rarely just sit there or hold the object suffocating them to their face). In the report, it said that the baby suctioned it to her face by holding it to her face and then inhaling, creating a vacuum. Except for the fact that the vacuum would have ended the second she exhaled, either voluntarily, or by losing consciousness, because the vacuum could only exist for as long as she could hold her breath. That's how vacuums work, negative air pressure, in this case powered by the baby's diaphragm. It also said her two older siblings were there, four and five respectively and that they witnessed the death, and that mom was in the shower (for 20 minutes). But if that's true why didn't they do something, why not go get mom (there have been four and five year olds that have called emergency services while adults were otherwise incapacitated, but all they had to do was go bang on the bathroom door)? Why was a four and five year old left alone with a baby anyways? Why take a 20 minute shower when there's no one else there to watch your baby other than a four and five year old? The whole situation sounds suspicious in my opinion, either mom did it and the kids are covering for her, or one of the kids did it not knowing they were committing murder, and mom is covering for them (or mom just has no idea). Or something else happened entirely. Because what it says went down, doesn't make any sense, based on how vacuums work, and on haw I'm pretty sure most children would react to seeing their sibling (or anyone) suffocating. The wiki page brings up the idiotic idea Russ Rader put forward when speaking of the suffocation that (and I quote), "the more the child breaths, the tighter the ball is held in place". Except that's not how it works, because the air we breath doesn't just vanish, once it reaches our lungs, the mass of air is not destroyed upon entering the body, all it is, is held with in the lungs, and the lungs only have a certain capacity. You can't breath in an infinite amount of air, and the air you breath isn't lost to existence, so while placing something over your mouth and nose and inhaling _will_ create a vacuum, the vacuum could only _be_ a vacuum for as long as you can hold your breath, and _make_ the vacuum. So the vacuum in this case scenario would have failed the instant that baby lost consciousness and exhaled, it is _not_ possible for that baby to have suffocated in the manner described. Something else happened to that baby, and if that plastic pokeball did suffocate her to death, it did not happen in the manner described, because of the facts of how our bodies, and how vacuums work.

So a 13 month old girl unknowingly commits suicide by covering her mouth and her nose with the two halves of a toy Poke ball, prompting the parents to make a website called "Pokemon Kills", which probably contains information about how Pokemon is evil and The like. This reminds me of the thing with the gorilla. Her parents don't take care of their kid, and in the end, something innocent gets harmed. This is really depressing. Well, it's not like this comment will make a difference. And there will most likely be people giving this comment hate for even mentioning the gorilla thing, but it's really true.

I see your point and agree completely: it takes a while to suffocate yourself on a pokeball, clearly the parents weren't paying attention, and any semi-spherical object would have done that, not just a pokeball :( I don't see how Pokemon is evil in any way, it makes 0 sense, just as it makes no sense as to how the parents of the child with the gorilla let there child crawl through many safety barriers. How can things like this even happen? It's incredibly sad...

I feel like it was stupid to take out the casino in later remakes of the games. Blue version taught me an important lesson: I have an addiction to gambling. It's better that I learn that in a video game with fake money and no real consequences than in real life where I could lose real money and deal with considerable consequences. Now, I avoid gambling because I know this about myself--even in video games I would play later on in life. For instance, in Fallout: New Vegas, I'd make a point of ignoring the Blackjack tables because I know of my problem and don't want to lose all my caps (for those who don't know, the currency in the Fallout games). Thanks, Pokemon, for giving me such an important heads-up about myself.

I don't really understand the parents in the last one. Yeah there should be a warning sayings it's a potential hazard and, assuming there wasn't a warning, then the parents have full rights to be angry, sue, or whatever. So silly isn’t the best word but it is true that how the parents acted didn’t make any sense

I remember the morning when my parents denied pokemon from me and my sister, we were watching an episode and then suddenly they told us to stop watching it. That was the last day of my childhood with pokemon. I think they heard those rumours about it being related to satanism. I apologize since this comment is 2 years old, but I did some research, and apparently the child was just over a year old, and the mom left the kid with her 4 and 5 year old to take a shower for 20 minutes. A guy further up in the comments has a theory that the mom actually killed the baby and needed something to blame it on, but I don't want to accuse someone of something that heinous

Then again, these fucktards weren't smart enough to watch their kid for more than 5 minutes, so they obviously have no understanding of business dealings. It was a mess up in manufacturing which i highly doubt nintendo/game freak was directly involved with in any capacity, let alone the darker side of it that im sure i'll get a lot of hate for... where were they when their child was suffocating?? either way incredibly sad and heartbreaking, i hope that the little girl is in a better place now.

In regards to the violence thing: I actually think the anime is good for teaching kids to be kind to animals. Battles are like boxing, not dogfighting. Trainers are chastised for pushing their pokemon too hard or letting them get genuinely hurt during battle, and they're very respected. I love how pokemon and their trainers are seen as partners. There are countless episodes where Ash and the gang have to stop someone from abusing them, basically. Like that one where that asshole trainer abandoned charmander. "Father! Please understand. Pokémon are not tools. Pokémon and humans take each other to greater heights. They are our wonderful partners. Some humans understand this. Why can't you?"

This channel always amazes with how good the video topics are, and how well produce always makes me want more, Keep up the great work *thumbs up*

I want to know, WHO has the right time to call out a innocent person/group/company and blames them for little things? With Jinx, she was black and has big lips. The big lips are part of her design. The color black was chosen because they based it off of a Japanese thing. The Pokemon evolution is not real evolution, so its just metamorphosis. The badges help use moves as well, but certain people wont say that part of them. Plus who said that they just controlled the beast? The badges only help the Pokemon obey the trainer at certain levels. Not controlling the Pokemon all together. The Burger King situation was the retared parents fault, not Pokemon. Just a small factoid about jynx in Japanese history that literally a simple Google search can explain, jynx is designed after the spirits called yamauba and yuki-onna which translates to mountain hag and snow witch, if you look up yamauba the simililarities are very striking, and as yamauba where generally seen in plays and theatrics, as a nod to Jynx's overdone makeup and likeness to dancing. It never had anything to do with black people lol

I do remember the stuff in the manga. I actually had single issues of the Toshihiro Ono manga in English where some of that stuff accidentally got past the censors. It was corrected in later print runs. I've never heard of that Burger King story though. That's scary. It's interesting you mention "The Legend of Dratini" (the episode banned for having guns). Despite having banned that episode, the English version has still repeatedly shown Ash's Tauros (which he caught in that ep), even as recently as Sun and Moon, where they were shown when Ash and his Alolan friends visited Oak's lab. But because they banned "The Legend of Dratini," they created a plot hole as to where Ash's Tauros came from, and why he has so many. (He has so many because of a running gag in the banned ep where every time he tried to catch another Pokémon, a Tauros got in the way).

madison morren The anime seemed to think otherwise. Jynx works for Santa Claus. There's a Dutch Christmas character named Black Pete who also works for Santa and unmistakably in blackface. I would believe people about it being based on other things if there wasn't that connection.

almightycinder tbf it makes little sense for them to base Jynx on a Zwarte Piet compared to a myth from their own country. It's not like Zwarte Piet is well known all over the world (especially when Pokemon came out). Never mind that Zwarte Piet is a guy, or that Sinterklaas lives in spain. I can understand why they removed it from the western dub, but I don't think that makes Jynx racist. I fully believe that it was never based on black face.

You see, some people take the Bible FAR too literally. Remember that someone had to write this down, and even if it was God's word being written in earnest, some things may have been lost in translation.

As someone who is trans, I was so happy with how he talked about the trans character with respect!

That music in the beginning sounds so good
