Great video! only problem is that I have everything done exactly like you did in the video but for some reason it says "No Remote Controller on grid" even tho I have placed it, any help?

It's so long since I played I'm afraid I can't remember exactly how things worked. Have a look at the other comments and see if anything there helps.

Great stuff thank you. One thing i get is when my drone ship is connected to a base connector i can not take control. I use a control seat on my base to switch lock the connector first. This way my character is safe while i'm busy. Any other tips around this? Cheers Michael

I've had a similar problem with 2 vehicles that dock together (a wheeled transporter and a flying vehicle). I can control the transporter from the flying vehicle. But not the the other way round. There seems to be a hierarchy in place that I can't get round. The 2 vehicles I'm talking about are normally on the roof of my base, if you're wondering which they are. Michael I'm going to have another play with them when I get time and see if I can solve this problem as I think it is connected to what you're experiencing. You could test it by dropping a temporary seat on your drone but still remote connect to it instead of controlling it directly. I hope this makes sense?

Oh have you got the connector that is on the drone set as a hotbar button ON the drone?

@@TallmanBradGameplay Yes i do have the drone connector on the drone hotbar. I try a seat on the drone with no luck. It looks like once you connect your ship to the base it is not listed in remote access. This works quite well, i placed a control seat on my base and put the drone remote control on it's hotbar.

awesome tutorial. thanks ... but ... any reason why i do exactly the same like you at 6:30 and then i check my Shift K and it says no remote control (while im staring at it green and ready) whats happening here?

I'm pleased the tutorial was useful. I'm not sure why you're getting that message to be honest. If you're running on a server there could be limitations in place. I know some servers used to restrict the use of certain things that were resource heavy. Not heard of remotes being an issue though

@@TallmanBradGameplay just with my friend. im Hosting. but guess what after 3 hours and 3 restarts it just randomly worked. it also happens That my friend can access our base and i cant occasionally. i dont know ^^ non there less thank you for making me understand the remote Controller enough so i know Something was odd ^^

So when I try to remote control things my controls are weird and steering doesn’t seem to work. At first I thought it was my camera, maybe it still is? But I messed around with camera placement until it looked right. What am I doing wrong?

There's a section in the video about camera speed adjustments. It could be the speed is so low it looks like it's not moving. That info might be in the Spectator Cam video. I'm sorry it was so long ago I'm struggling to remember.

@@TallmanBradGameplay i thought so too at first... i figured it out though. Turns out I was putting the control block on upside down and it was inverting the controls and making my camera look wrong.

Oooh no way! Haha. I hadn't even thought of that! So simple. I'm pleased you got it sorted.

Alright so I built a large rover with pistons on each of the four wheel suspensions to raise and lower it but now i can't drive it because the wheel suspension is no longer apart of the grid. can i remote control my wheels to drive forward??

The wheels are classed as separate grids when they are on pistons. You'd need a script to control them for you as it would be like remote controlling 4 different vehicles! Unfortunately I don't know the name of the scripts but I'm sure it will pop up if you search for "wheel control". I hope this helps. All the best.

I found a way to do it without scripts although it gets a bit wonky as you approach 100m/s

I can't see why it wouldn't be possible.

Mine says wrong owner ship and no connection. But it’s all mine and I have antennas. Any suggestions?

I'm really sorry ace. It's been a while since I played SE. Nothing is springing to mind. If you own the ship and have the antenna configured I can't think of anything else.

Probably too late, you need to grind the control seat completely and rebuild it

If you look at this video once he's out of range from the Rover he gets the same messages. Probably means that whatever you're trying to control is out of range from the antennas

could the game be bugging on me? i place a remote controll block, an antenna, my suit wifi is turned on, but if i hit k and go to remote accesss, it doesnt show in the list.... hmm interresting, if you have the vehicle docked to an other grid , it wont show in the list

I'm really not sure. It's a long time since I messed with SE. It could be a range issue, or ownership. Another comment suggests bringing the control seat to make sure you have ownership. Or there could be a bug. Antenna never were particularly straightforward which was why I did the video originally. However that was a couple of years ago and some things may have changed since then. I'm sorry again and I hope you manage to get it sorted. If you do find a solution it might be helpful to others if you post it here?

@@TallmanBradGameplay the issue was, that the small vessel, acts like it is part of the other grid, while it is docked. so in order to remote controll, i had to undock first.
