That solves my problem of being forced to go with a kubota track loader despite the loud noise, dusty cab and rougher ride they offer. I was needing my machine to have that inward opening door so I can exit my machine to unhook my welder from my lifting chain when loading it onto my truck. With outward swinging cab doors, my loader would prevent my egress. Not with this device. Now the only other issue I have with the bobcats is the lower hydraulic flow rates available. Kubota SVL-75 has 29.3 GPM, Case 37.6 GPM and Bobcat T66 has 26.9 GPM. Not sure if 26.9 GPM will get me into the brush cutter I need. I can't go with a Bobcat any bigger than that with the truck and trailer setup I have. The aforementioned Case and Kubota are within that weight range as well. Tough decisions to make.

Sorry, iPhones and iPads lack the tactile feedback you need to make operating a machine safe. If you have joysticks, your fingers can find them and operate them without you looking at your hands. With an iPad, you need to constantly direct your gaze to your fingers, which is a security issue. So I heartily recommend the PS2 game controllers or similar remotes with joysticks. Recently, an American warship was retrofitted with joysticks instead of iPad-like controllers after some accident happened because of mistakes in maneuvering.

First, thanks for watching! As for the tactile feedback, we agree. However, I think Bobcat means the iPhone and iPad more for running automated/programmed operation paths which are coming in a future update. Kind of like drone operation.

How to deal with latency, what i experience with WiFi and Bluetooth compared with real Radio Control is latency issues that interfere with that accuracy you need for real-time controlling.

To be honest, they experienced some of those problems when they were demonstrating the technology for us, though they were connecting to a WiFi network that was inside the building we were adjacent to. It likely works much better if your WiFi network is setup to span a jobsite.

In my opinion, if a general socket communication based on TCP/IP is used between BobCat and iPad, controlling the BobCat using Android device will be no problem.

So, what does it mean when a machine has an “R/C Ready” sticker on the front. Is this already set up or does it simply already have the diagnostic port?

@@dshook1989 turns out it means you have to add the communication equipment ($$) to talk between the Ipad and the Bobcat. The machine itself is RC Ready because the controls within the machine communicate on a canbus network making it relatively easy to tap into the network and control remotely.
