@@DevOpsForDevelopers Python vs Go, which one you suggest which help me in contributing to the open source as well?

Both! 🤣 Many of the newer devops-specific tools are written in Go. But there are lots of python projects that need help as well. I'd recommend playing with them both and seeing which one seems best for you. After getting proficient in one, come back and learn the other.

Ah sweet! In that case, if Ansible is on your radar: not only is it in written in Python, but so are the numerous modules that are used by it. It may be worth checking out some of those looking for someone with your skills.

Follow the documentation when using the product. Add documentation where you get stuck. For issues and bugs, most projects have a Slack or Discord channel where you can talk to the team about the best way to solve the problem.

Hello sir I just wanna ask one thing. You are suggesting to contribute to tools that are used in DevOps. For that I need to learn that tool's backend language but then how I will gain experience about devops practices. Please help me sort out this doubt I am in desperate need of help Thank you

By learning how the tool is built, you better understand how it is used, which reveals the devops practices it supports. Think of it like this: by learning how different cars are built, you learn more about the features and capabilities of cars which tells you over time which cars are built for speed, which ones are for comfort, which ones are for off-road, etc... Does that help?

*If* you want to contribute to the tools you will have to learn the backend language otherwise you'll be limited to only helping with documentation and usage scenarios. What is your long term goal? To be a contributor to open source devops tools or to use devops tools in your job?
