Thank for watching my video. The trip was a blast, but rushed due to time off work restraints. Me an my friend just love to ride. yes the way back was a blur 1400 miles in 3 days i think, and the Hwy rout hime was boring . Hwy 550 is a must do though best part of the way home. Good luck on your upcoming ride. stay safe.

500 miles a day average. I don't understand why so many rush the trip. I would assume it's a time issue but I'd do a shorter route to take more time to smell the roses. I'm planning to spend all summer in '23 motorcycle camping but I'll be fishing, hiking and taking my time. I'll even spend more than one night at different locations to soak in the scenery. Anyway, thanks for the video because it's good to know what to expect. I'll definitely skip the great basin. 👍

I am with you mate, one leg per day is how we plan to ride it - 15 days in total just doing the CDT and a 60-day ride all up including Mexico and Canada, with a big detour in Colorado-Utah. Not sure why I would attempt it on a cumbersome bus like the GS, when you can have a bike half the weight and just as comfortable. Great video though and thanks for posting!

@@andrewtreloar7389 we think alike. I watch several channels and have never seen anyone not in a rush. Even Noraly (Itchy Boots) whom is making $$$ while traveling has rushed on all her trips. I would have made her South America to Alaska trip last a year or two, not 5 months. She missed so many amazing things to see. I also agree about big bikes. I'm on a DR650 and couldn't imagine getting anything larger to the remote places I've been. As a solo rider I'd never be able to pick up a GS with an additional 100lbs of gear.

Some great scenery along the way, pity you didn't take the tike to stop and enjoy it, or the locals! The video was excellent entertainment though and I am glad you found your jacket. @@kim-dianaarend4774 g'day Kim. Yeah I hear that a lot but the physics don't lie. 600lbs is 600lbs no matter which way you slice or dice it. For me , lighter is better and I endeavour to keep my total weight under 500lbs. That is why I sold my F800GSA as well, just too porky. I a now looking at the new Aprilia Tuareg 660 because of its low weight. Being 55yo and 5'7" doesn't help either. But hey, to each their own. As long as you had fun, right?

yes I used Kevin's GPS, blue rout all the way. BMW G310GS, well i have never rode one so it would be hard for me to recommend. I have watch the reviews on them and the concussion is that it's more of a light duty off road bike. It would need some upgrades for sure , ie spoked wheels, and suspension for the the gear you would need to carrie if you indent to camp. Any dual sport can make the trip if your careful with the capability of your equipment. Cheers hope your ride goes well. if you have any other questions don't hesitate to drop me a line.

I appreciate the effort that went into editing this, as it's clearly a labour of love, but the music is far too loud and intrusive. An instrumental or two peppered strategically throughout the video, can truly help set the mood, but this near constant loud noise that drowns out voices and engine notes is a real deal-breaker. Try not to put any music over people talking, or if you do - turn it down much further, until it's in the background. Moderation is the key. You need to give people's ears time to rest.

Good post. I "attempted" the CD this year - starting in NM with the goal to hit the Canadian border. Within three days, I would have motorcycle issue that would forshorten my trip. But there was a bit more to the trip end than that. Here is a link to my ride - kzread.info/dash/bejne/lomap9lxhLLOiJc.html. In short, what I was in need of during my trip was the partnership you and Troy had. Well done!!
