A war footing?😂 Russia is spending double digit amounts. We dont even spend 2% now, thanks to the nuclear deterrent coming out of the defence budget. Which also means we won't spend 2.5% either. Donkey's years from now, when inflation would have eroded spending further as well.

There is a no fly zone, planes and helicopters are getting shot down often.

2.5% by 2030... what's that.. .4% ? 75 billion so.. 10 billion a year.. that's.. what 20 planes including crews and bombs and support contracts.. Just wondering... doesn't feel like a strong ally. As for 'as soon as funds allow' ... all we do is spend money we don't have why would we ever have funds if not now. All feels like a weak half assed effort when the forces are so beaten down over the last 40 years.
