Contemporary Cement Sculpting Camp, Karnataka - M. Vishweshwaraiah's Sculpture
Vishweshwaraiah's sculpture was made in the contemporary cement sculpting camp organized at Agumbe by the Karnataka Shilpakala Academy. Sir M. Vishveshwaraya, our much-known Indian engineer whose birthday is celebrated as Engineer’s Day. He is held in high regard as a pre-eminent engineer of India for his contributions to the public good. King George V knighted him as a Knight Commander of the British Indian Empire, he was also the chief engineer responsible for the construction of the Krishna Raja Sagara dam. There are a lot of statues of him in educational institutes representing all the knowledge and achievements he has possessed.
