Contemporary Cement Sculpting Camp, Karnataka - Yakshagana Sculpture

Yakshagana sculpture was made in the contemporary cement sculpting camp organized at Agumbe by the Karnataka Shilpakala Academy. It becomes a great program for all the artists from respective sculpture backgrounds to meet and exchange knowledge on sculpting techniques on various topics. Yakshagana is a popular dance form of Uttara Kannada, Shimoga, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and the Kasaragod district of Kerala. It is a performance that consists of background musicians, dance, and dialogue groups performing together. The performers wear splendid costumes, headgear and their faces painted.
