Contact - The complete beach scene

Ойындар

The movie Contact ( released in 1997 and based on a novel of the famous astronomer Carl Sagan ) is one of the most iconic when it comes to the question: Are we alone?
This is such an important, profound segment of this movie and it's touching my soul deeply.
Each time I'm watching this I'm feeling emotionally so devasteded.
I can't help... I'm alone.
"You're an interesting species. An interesting mix. You're capable of such beautiful dreams, and such horrible nightmares. You feel so lost, so cut off, so alone, only you're not." - Non Human Intelligence

I've lost most of my family, and this scene is really hard to watch without shedding some tears... it's a bitter-sweet almost nostalgic feeling, like you said above. Truly a fantastic, deep and moving scene from Jodie Foster and David Morse.

@@orbis17 I´m really sorry for your loss 😞 as you mentioned it´s hard to describe this sensation because this scene hits so many layers, not just the actual movie.

I once had a dream exactly like this I stroked a lions mane that had the kindest, most loving smile Then, something indefinable told me I had to go back home I honestly could have stayed there for all eternity The overwhelming sense of peace and beauty was indescribable

My favorite movie scene, and that truly is saying something. You’re the best for uploading the whole thing in HQ

Reminds me of stories of people taking Ayahuasca... One man has a story of him taking it, then being in a strange place, and talking to a voice, and asking it about his Mom's brain cancer.

Just imagine what knowledge they would have I would give anything for the chance to speak to an alien being and learn from them

When people ask me what are my thoughts of this reality that we live and whether god exist or not I always refer them to this movie scene.....basically we dont know...but we know its something unimaginable and completely unexplainable way beyond our comprehension.

This is the one scene I I hate about this film. It is so incredibly depressing. Can you imagine a human being living on a world like that ? where every second of every day is under a sky of jet black ? Any person of any mettle would be driven mad within months.
