Construction of Tony Fisher's 7x7x7 V-Sculpture Puzzle
Watch me make a 11x11x11 V-Ball - • Part 1 - 11x11x11 V-Ba...
This is my third 7x7x7 V-Cube transformation. You can see how I sculpted it using a Dremel. No rapid prototyping or moulds were used. This hands on approach is my favourite way of making puzzles. One slip and you know the whole thing will be messed up. If it turns out well though it's very satisfying.
It was more difficult than both my 7x7x7 V-Barrel and 7x7x7 V-Ball to shape since I had no rules to follow. You know when you've finished a ball or barrel but only I could decide when this puzzle was finished. In fact you can see in the construction video where I changed my mind and the final creation is somewhat different to what I originally planned.
I am very happy with the quality and despite the deep Dremelling it works very well. Rotational movement is pretty smooth though it probably wouldn't stand up to rough treatment. I really did cut it to the absolute limit in places which never helps a puzzle's stability.
Because it's symmetrical it maintains it's shape. This makes it less confusing to solve than my 7x7x7 Barrel though possibly more enjoyable since on the Barrel and Ball it can sometimes be frustrating constantly lining up the layers.
I have used Rubik's Cube style stickers with each of the 12 'edge' areas coloured differently.

Tony Fisher is the master of this
i LOVE watching you make your cubes. Keep up the good work!
I am no rubiks cube fan but this video deserves at least a T-UP
What a new way to use cubes.
just got my v-sculpture in the mail its insane thanks tony
Ha ha, I thought that's what you meant. It's the result of partly cutting into the puzzle's mechanism and can't be avoided. A lot of people including myself consider it an attractive feature. It makes a nice change to the geometric shapes on 99% of puzzles.
it is hard to believe that anyone could do that. I thought modding my 6x6 with a dremel is hard, but wow, Great Job Tony. Awesome Puzzle.
gotta love the dremel ...great job as always
..real GENIUS.....fantastic work!!!
Definitely my favorite cube creation ever! This looks really awesome.
@MentalVicent Looking forward to seeing it.
Dude! Seriously! WOW!
By that argument all musicians, artists, sportsman, actors etc are wasting their time on worthless activities. After a hard days work or school a lot of people enjoy going home relaxing and playing with one of my puzzles. I consider that a great achievement. Pleasure and entertainment is an important part of our lives and well being.
Yes i love to watch you make cubes too, This cube is crazy :DDD
Tony I think you are very good in youtube and you have inspirered me to start rubix cubing and other type of

oh my god thats amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@justnotthatwhite33 The plaster was used for finger protection only.
I just noticed i've been watching your videos for about 3 years now..
dude...AWSOME!
@DorusDomino Yes, I tried to cut a Megaminx down to a rhombic dodecahedron shape.
Really awesome puzzle!!!
They did a little bit but different plastics behave in different ways. The V-Cube stuff doesn't really melt very well which was handy or I would needed to do it much slower.
This is worth a like!
u are crazy man!!!!! GOOD JOB!!
you are the master of rubix cube your very very genius!!!
Amazing man
Your next project should be your first design, that looked pretty cool
I'm not an engineer or anything like that. Making these things is more about the desire to do so than any talent.
wow. just WOW
AMAZING!!!!!
@THENIEYA I wear a mask now for the dust. I don't worry too much about the fumes because I am not exposed to them for long periods. Not saying they are safe though.
Good job !
AWESOME!!!!!!
You are awesome , nice job !
Amazing
u r an awesome artist
Yes, that's why they are not cheap.
1. Paper clogs less 2. No cuts, just used for finger protection.
must have been hell to put it back together again
@kckeanu Yes but I haven't really used the other one.
OMG, the time investment!
Thanks, it should be ok now
OMG good job man
@chrisisick Yes, you can have one for 450 GBP or wait until I auction one, possibly during the next two years.
Hardware stores or online. Look out for names like Fablon, Dc-Fix, Alkor for the cheaper stuff.
Yes, see my website.
This should be an art
Hi tony! Ima big fan of your work
Awesome vid....
Me too.
@crumbsonplate Yes I know. I don't consider it rude. He laughed and realised his error anyway.
u have incredible patience..
SO COOL

I like the sound of the eco-wet paper
Sick.
This is so cool I want one
Wow this is amazing. Keep up the good work and do what you like to do. :D
I have a couple of video showing most of my custom made ones.
the first scene broke my heart :(
bro very good, congratulations
@speedcubingro There are areas which open on to neighbouring cubies so I don't think so.
amazing! 5/5
wow so much effort
O_O WOW! AMAZING!
Wohah what can I say this is fantastic ^^" ...
Amazing!! I would like to see puzzles like this one in my country to buy it 👌👌
@junits15 I can recognise what goes where by the 'interior' shapes of each piece.
@liv4sk8boarding All tags are relevant for puzzle fans. If I was desperate for views I would use terms like "Britney Spears" or "sexy" wouldn't I?
@MentalVicent Yes
you are a GEANUS!
@MentalVicent Sorry but I have no plans to make a 6x6x6 version.
Looks like this is an awesome profit source for you. I just said that comment because of the big money, i don't have a 7x7x7 after all x)
@Jupiterninja95 I didn't. I use them to protect my fingers.
@RequiemSoup Usually 240 and 600 though sometimes 120 also
thats badass how u make it from the original cube
@Jupiterninja95 I bought it from a shop.
Fantástico!
No of course not. How long do you think it takes to make one of these? Stickers alone take 8 hours and that's just a tiny part of making one. 300 GBP is the standard price for something like this and that's how much my customers paid when I sold a batch in 2009.
No, that's just a 7x7x7 with some marks to help me decide where to cut.
