This video shows the construction process of a building's foundation. The narrator, who has been visualizing the project through 3D modeling, is excited to see the foundation taking shape. The crew encounters some challenges, such as missing rebar and the need to adjust the steel mat placement. They also work on extending the formwork to the desired wall height, using wood and screws., and the crew receives a surprise gift from their retired employee Arlo. Throughout, the narrator provides insights into the construction techniques and the reasons behind their decisions to deviate from the original plans. The overall tone is one of camaraderie and enthusiasm for the progress of the project.

Sika products are next level adhesives. Somewhere online there is an old video of them lifting a 40t crane test weight with a 12 inch square plate held in place with Sika only. I guess they figured one was too easy, so they bonded a second one and lifted them both. 80 ton lifted 20 ft in the air with nothing but glue and three one foot plates holding it all together!

Hi Jaime, you might know this but if not, hope it would help. You could use the SketchUp application to check the volume of the wall structure or any drawn object as long as it became a single entity or object. Just ensure that there are no internal face before you make it as component or as a group. Then you can check the entity info for the volume. Love watching your videos. Amazing teamwork.

+ 1000 on this comment. I found that out a few months ago putting in DG for a kids play zone and fire pit cocktail spot. Both were irregular shapes so I was able to take rough measurements and I was within 1/4 yard (ordered 9yds and used 8 3/4)

you could also model the rebar grid in sketchup, and either do a model subtraction or just get a number on a section of grid and scale that volume however many times. I’m sure the steel adds up.

Good job you guys for your first time. Wa St Union Carpenters build form walls most of the time, a lot of times 20 to 30 ft high on the sides of freeways. I'm a retired union carpenter and I've never not seen a vibrator used on a wall. Union Laborers here are in charge of pouring all concrete and vibrating the walls. There's an art to leaving the stinger of the vibrator in the wall section for just the right amount of time to get the air out ans quickly disperse the aggregate according to the mix specs. It's better to over kick a wall form than to under kick it. Also I seen many times when a laborer wants to get back at some carpenters, they find a weak spot in the form where it hasn't been kicked enough, leave the stinger in a little too long and move the bulkhead or open a crack in the panels. So leaving in the stinger for too long can easily raise the PSI of the volume of concrete. Should have run dry lines on the top of your form walls cause there's always movement, and a guy can easily run the screws on the kickers to realign the top of the wall. The laborers usually throw the hose over their shoulder so they get a better aim when they pour.

You don't have to convince me that those Milwalkie battery tools are the Ducksnuts. My stepson makes garage doors and is flat out with work most of the time. After a hundred times of running out of batteries, cutting power leads and the general main-in-the-butt of a business using different sorts of tools, ( all good but from different manufactories), he piled 'em all up and got a good deal on replacing the lot with Milwalkie. Best thing ever. He has a power wall where there is always any number of batteries changing and ready for swap each day into the trucks or to sections of the workshop. I got the chance to use the hand held grinders and the drills instead of my usual old 'inhereted from Dad' models. What a step up in performance and how comfortable to use. It all makes itself known at the end of the workday in extra wok done and the lessened pain the old man arms and hands; ( good'ol arthritis from banging things a lot). These videos are a pleasure to watch and it shows that it is a slow day when you don't learn summ'at.

As epic as this pour was, I once years ago had the opportunity to watch a truly incredible pour, although given the entire pour took just slightly over 24 hrs, start to finish. I was living in a high rise apartment building in downtown Seattle called The Harbor Steps and the enormous pad footing for the new north building of the complex was poured. Alaska Way, Post Alley, and First Avenue were all completely closed off for several blocks so as to be able to stage the dozens of concrete trucks and pumpers. The pour started around midnight Friday night and continued non-stop until just past midnight Saturday. I don't remember what time of year it was, but you should have seen the site all lit up as they poured thru the dark hours. It was magnificent to witness, like a complex ballet, SO many moving pieces all coordinated to perfection. Grats on your successful pour, I'd have been sweating bullets!

The foam can be dissolved out as well. If you get some stuck or it's hard to get to, just pour a little Naphtha, Kerosene or Acetone over it. You can also burn it out with a torch, but you'll need to keep the flame on it to overwhelm the fire retardants.

Your destroyed EZ-up tent reminded me of a setup I just saw at a farmer's market. He had 4 buckets filled with concrete with anchor bolts that he attached his tent to. Seemed like a good idea.
