They go backwards to keep more weight in the back (side facing up hill) and helps prevent tipping over or catching the bucket and flipping

Man, I didn't even notice until you told me, the letter E somehow slipped in accidentally 😀
I'm guessing the dozer backing down the sloped has to do with the oil pickup I'm the sump

At 5:35/11:53, the issue is failing to rig the load above its center of gravity. The center of gravity is higher up on the carbody and boom. Since the rigging was on the cat tracks it was below the center of gravity and therefore unstable leading to this predictable accident.

So basically like a kids seesaw.
Trouble is they're that heavy they are really difficult to free up and pull out of the bog hole or swamp lol. With the right equipment you can get them out but without it they won't drive themselves out on their own lol.
If it weren't for the horribly patronising and sarcastic voice over, this would have been a good video
