I don't make any more money from sales, so this is just for you.
I get it. I'm kinda strange. I go out into the wilderness every chance I get. And I get dirty. So you wouldn't think I'd mind. But I do. I like to stay clean. I can stand a day or two of hiking, sweating and getting filthy, but eventually I can't stand to be around myself. So I've been in search of the perfect camp shower for several years now.
When we went out with our friends Matt & Nicole, they had the answer. The Rinsekit Pro. But why not just get a cheap gravity shower? Ever felt the pressure on those? Ever been camping somewhere without trees to hang one from? And all the ones you manually pump to pressurize. They range from expensive to downright garbage. They don't hold constant pressure, regardless of how nice they are. Eventually you'll have to pump them up. So why not just jump in a stream? Well, they're not always around, clean or deep enough. And you have to take all the environmental factors into account as well.
So I reached out to Rinsekit and they agreed to send me a Rinsekit Pro in return for this video. I won't lie. I really wanted that Rinsekit Pro. But I guess that tells you something about it. I'm a fan. It works.
It's self contained and compact, unlike the few mechanically pressurized units I've looked at. I don't have a full blown off road overlanding unit to strap a bunch of shower parts to. I need something I can pick up and throw into my truck or my wife's 4Runner and hit the road. The construction is solid and fairly well thought out. I'm not a fan of the handle, but you don't need to use it. You can just carry it by the edges of the bucket. The battery life is solid. And then there is the glorious 50 psi constant pressure water. With a 3.5 gallon capacity, it will run for 6 minutes solid. That may not sound like much for a shower, but I've found you don't use as much water with this thing. Tina and I both took showers and it was still 3/4 full. When you shower at home, you just let the water run. Your not in a rush and take your time. When you're in the wilderness, you want to get clean and get dressed. Since you have to hold the handle down to spray, you get yourself wet, lather up and then rinse off. In between the water flow is turned off. Capacity isn't a problem when you use it this way.
And then there are the accessories. The hands free nozzle is great as a hand and dish washing station for family camping trips. The heater would be great for those cold camping trips. And the shower stall looks amazing, if you have the space for it.
Overall, I'm exceedingly happy with the Rinsekit Pro. I know it won't fit everyone's needs; it's a luxury, and it's not cheap. But if it's a priority for you like it is for me, I can't find anything on the market that comes close.

I use a $5.00 bucket from home depot and a 30.00 electronic rechargeable showerhead I got on some online site. I also use a wolfwise popup tent and we bought a small bamboo showering platform that stands above the ground a bit more and can rinse dirt off easier if the bottom gets dirty. I really like this gadget though.

@@ralphieandthemamacat8383 We bought our little system to work with warm water. My thought was to heat up a gallon or two of boiling water with cold water in the bucket and shower with that. It's a 5 gallon bucket but we only need 1-2.5 gallons to shower both of us with this thing but it was pretty warm.

I was using this daily for a bit on my surf missions and unfortunately went through 3 of the regular rinse kits(w/o the electric pump) and they all eventually leaked and lost pressure. Rinse Kit did replace the first one, but I became so frustrated I just threw the last one in the garbage and just bought a Yakima road shower which has held up (soFar)

I purchased this for lawn care but I am planning to use it for camping soon. It's been reliable & durable and I have run several gallons through it multiple times over the past two years without taxing the battery at all. It is easy to clean so I am comfortable using it for two purposes. However, for $80 you could get one just for camping. The pressure is not very high, but it will rinse caked dirt off your ankles just fine. I am sure there are better shower heads you could attach to the hose if that's your sole use. Scotts 190567 Lithium-Ion Battery Powered Garden Sprayer. I use the 2 gallon version.

This sort of device has been fantastic for getting the sand off after a surf or a hike. Our handle broke, I ended up replacing it (in the field) with a paracord webbing...and I've just left it that way. it's much easier to manage and it has the added bonus of keeping it from sitting directly on the ground.

We can get two adults showered out of one tank. You have to shower pretty fast (and don't leave the water running the entire time; just use to get wet and wash off), but it works. Been a while since I got this thing and I still bring it with me. Although I usually bring their cube version. I like it slightly better, but either works fine.

Great review.. I have a Nemo Helio shower which is great; no moving parts, highly packable, but sometimes I wish I had constant pressure without having to use a foot pump and this new Rinsekit seems almost perfect. As you say, they’re expensive but to me it’s a long term investment, the capability is something I could use for many years.. will still always keep my Nemo though, I like to at least have options that don’t rely on batteries as a backup. Thanks!..

I also live in AZ and do remote dispersed camping away from water so we pack all water with us. Given that my quest to find a shower rinse kit has been: dc pump in a bucket ( wastes too much water), Nemo Helio pump shower (works, hose is too short, biggest CON is you can't really transport water in it bouncing around in a truck full of gear), Zodi heatable pressure washer system (stainless steel developed pinhole leaks within a few months & company went out of business), stainless steel 3Gal pressure sprayer (worked great but also rusted inside), 3gal plastic pressure sprayer (also works great but metal pump handle rod rusted), Geyser system non heated wish it was battery operated with built in battery vs DC cable, conserved water but bulky for it's size & water volume). My current setup is primarily a plastic 3gal pressure sprayer & occassional use of the geyser system. Lately I have been looking into battery powered USB rechargeable pressure sprayers (many have flow control dials) and discovered the rinsekit pro. This is what I am looking for but I see the cons as no user replaceable battery (at least I haven't found any evidence of that.) For the price they could have used a small LiFePo battery insealed of a sealed lead acid battery. The hose should have a screw on attachment instead of a crimp connector. Last con is is see is many reviews discuss how cheap & thin the box is with some reporting cracking & leaks. This debating the battery pressure washer or the rinsekit pro. Either way I will make an adapter to use the geyser system sponges to minimize water use when showering. Questions I have for you: Do you have an update since using it longer? Would you still recommend it? Any additional pros or cons you may have discovered since this video? Can you tell is the battery is under replaceable. Some of the battery operated pressure sprayers have user replaceable batteries & pumps available.

  • @JerryArizona

It isn't built for battery replacement. I'm sure someone who has knowledge and experience with DIY could figure it out, but it isn't built for that. I do agree on the durability. That's my biggest concern and why I said I treat it gently. I haven't taken it out since this video, but will be again next weekend. I'll try to remember to get back to you with an update after that trip. We do a lot of day hikes and short backpacking trips where it doesn't go along. It definitely has a niche use.

I love it for the outdoor stuff I use it for but for washing a car I don’t think it would work too well. It doesn’t have a ton of water pressure and I would think you’d have to refill it a bunch of times to finish washing a car.

Honestly, I can't remember. If I timed it, I'd say so in the video. If you want to conserve water, you can spray yourself to get wet, lather up, then spray again to wash off. My wife and I can both get a shower without refilling doing this. If you just let it run constantly, you're gonna need to shower quickly and you won't get more than one person showered. Made that mistake when we had the heater hooked up to it and got into that warm shower hypnosis on a trip and it seemed to run out pretty fast.

Is the water tank capacity sufficient for a shower, or is a refill needed along the way?

  • @JerryArizona

    @JerryArizona

    Жыл бұрын

Tina and I were both able to shower and probably didn't use 1/3 of the 3.5 gallons in the tank. We used the manual sprayer, so water wasn't just running like your shower at home. But it was enough for each of us to shower completely, including washing our hair. It seemed to run out a lot faster on the family trip, but our grand daughter spent a lot of time playing with the auto nozzle....

Never cleaned one. I always just fill it with water. You can't really access the inside of the tank other than the small fill opening. So if you wanted to do anything other than rinse/flush it a few times with clean water, it would be tough.

Kind of scratching my head with this video. I have built PVC pipe showers for DIRT cheap, that attached to my truck that never once failed. Buying a premade unit from one of the big companies is laughable. And the best portable shower ever made is a rechargeable battery operated shower head with a small hose that sucks water out of any container, sold on amazon, for dirt cheap, that blows away every camp shower I have ever used. Do not buy that thing he is selling.
