So true. As soon as I became as humble as possible after reading “How to Win Friends and Influence People” it changed my life. I can attribute all success I’ve had to that moment, not to mention I’ve learned so much since my mind has stayed open since then. People will respect someone soooo much more when they are willing to be wrong and own it. It’s a very hard lesson for people to learn and some people never do. If they can bring themselves to drop the ego though, they will see immediate results in life and go so much further. Imagine if all of humanity did this, we would be many times further in our research and knowledge if so.

They probably thought that Dave wouldn't put in the time or effort to _actually do_ it though because flat earthers _almost_ never accept evidence that runs counter to their belief. I think there are only two flat earthers that have done so publicly. Ranty indicates that his change of position was due to the evidence presented being geographically local so he could confirm it for himself. I don't know the story for the other one. If there are other former flat earthers that have changed their minds, they have do so by silently disappearing.

When faced with threatening facts, they turn to avoidant behavior and at times angry, unreasoned gainsaying. It is like a personality type that ends up getting drawn into that stuff. Dave, all you need to do is ask a local Ham Radio operator. There's a repeater on the ISS which takes an up-link radio signal and sends it back down on another frequency. If the ISS wasn't there, a directional tracking antenna pointed out into space would not have a signal re-transmitted on the down-link. It would just go off out into space. In the fall of 1957, when I was a little boy, my dad took us out in the yard one night (it was a country town with almost no light pollution) to see an amazing thing. He explained that the Russians had shot a tiny artificial moon into space that was circling the Earth. And we would see it soon. So we waited - and sure enough, in a little while a tiny bright point, like a star, suddenly appeared in the middle of the sky and slowly moved towards the horizon. He explained that it had been in Earth's shadow, then came out into the sunlight, and we were seeing the sun reflected off of it's surface. So that was before NASA, before CGI, before computers were made with transistors. And it was done by the Russians, not the evil American government which wants to fool us all about the nature of the cosmos for some reason. It was tiny - 58 cm in diameter, but against the black sky it was a bright point that anyone with normal vision could see as it orbited. Dad had already showed us how the moon changes every day, and how the shadow of the Earth on the moon is always a crescent, no matter what part of the sky it's in, because the Earth is a giant ball. And when we'd gone to the beach, we'd watched big ships move out to sea, slowly disappearing from the bottom up, and he'd explained the horizon to us. It was clear to me, at 6 years old, that we live on a giant sphere - and I wasn't just believing what my dad had told me, I'd seen the evidence.

That reminds me of my youth. I was not quite as young as 6 though. At 5 yo I wondered what if Earth were a flat rectangle like the world atlas pulled down over the chalkboard when in kindie. And IF that were the case, then how come I could not see the nearby city if Earth were flat. Yea I had also seen a globe of Earth, but I was young and fanciful and wondered what if the stories of Columbus were true and he was trying to prove you would not fall off. So I did lots of observations, starting with the Sun, tracking it etc. And tons of other observations, some simple experiments and tons more observations. After several years, think I was around 8, I came to realization that no matter how hard I tried or how far up a tree I could get, I would never see the nearby city from my house because Earth was not a flat rectangle. Because Earth was clearly a sphere. I had seen the evidence, lots of it. Again yes I sort of already knew or at least been told this, but as I said I was young with a vivid imagination. I had even traced the analemma, although at that age I had no clue what it was called or precisely why. Was not until later in middle school that I learned that.

But then I met three arguments for Moon landing is real: (1) USSR captured the transmission from the Moon, not Hollywood (in the midst of the Cold War they would not support the US claims would those be fake). (2) Moon stones (shippedto the USSR) have multiple holes from micrometheoriths. This is hard to fake. (3) There are reflectors on the Moon placed by Apollo missions. Astronomers all over the world use those to measure the distance to the Moon. Just go to a department of Astronomy during the visitor day: they can show it working. 08/10/2023 Hello Mckeegan. My grandson and I saw the fly over ten or more years ago. We were camping in a big pasture with a big group of families and other campers in a wide open pasture, about 50 acres or more. We saw the Iss pass overhead in the dark. From out of sight to full shinny and until it darkened from the sun. Some said that it was an airplane but it was so high and bright that we decided it could not be airplane. We were all watching in amazement as it flew over. We talked for hours after. I have never seen this rare sight again but I did see the iss with my standard vision. No one had more than binoculars. Best clear night. The worst camp out with the same group was only 2 miles from a confirmed tornado. That was a strange night. We still mention that night occasionally. I did see it. Don't believe me just get on line for the flight path over the usa and wait for it to pass again on some clear night sky. It passes often overhead. Very cool. Don

Nicely done for a first time attempt! One thing to mention is that the ISS photo you showed 10:00 is not the ISS as it appears today because you can see the European ATV-X resupply ship docked to the far end of the russian segment (X-wing looking cylinder) and JAXA's H-II (HTV) resupply ship docked to the zenith port of the Harmony module (gold looking cylinder) - both ships are since retired, and the ISS solar arrays are missing the iROSA upgrades. But what you can make out in your transit pic is that bright white dot at the very tip of the US segment which is the Space X Crew Dragon that carried Crew 6 to the ISS and is currently docked to the forward docking port of the Harmony module so that's really cool. One thing ISS hoaxers don't seem to understand is that the station is constantly changing with new vehicles docking/departing, being retired, new upgrades like the iROSA solar arrays that NASA just had a spacewalk they livestreamed installing kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYdo3JZre8TLd84.html (and the next one is tomorrow - kzread.info/dash/bejne/q5mfyKmiXa2sYMo.html) and of course the upcoming Axiom Space commercial modules The hoaxer mind sees it as static, fake, but in reality its a dynamic constantly changing platform and all those changes are livestreamed, recorded, photographed and documented heavily (every new supply or crew ship, every new module, every iROSA install) and likewise instantly appear in any photo taken of the station from the ground by anyone. And also NASA is freaking livestreaming it 24/7 from two different perspectives so, you can easily verify the land its flying over, and any activities happening like ships docking and departing kzread.info/dash/bejne/fXtqta5vfcmdkc4.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/qnWdx6dmgde1lbA.html To deny the existence and regular operations of the ISS at this point is to basically deny reality, like I cannot even fathom it.

Flattards have become how they are because one or more of the FE priests has captured them by getting them to believe that they have been lied to all their lives, that "the Government" and all its agencies want to control their minds somehow, and that in order to escape this "control" they need to listen only to their priests. All efforts to educate them fail as they can't get past the irrational belief that they are, yet again, being lied to by "the Government", or by people who have bought the Government lies. If this sounds like yet another religious cult, run by priests whose control of their devotees' minds is strong, there is little or no difference. Dave can offer his information as neutrally and reasonably as he likes, but he will never penetrate the hard shell of resistance. Mind you, he might already know this, which means his comments and vids will be aimed at the fence sitters who may be tempted to dive into the rabbit holes that are flat Earth/Moon landing denial/911 denial/antivaxx, etc.

I recall someone asking me if I could photograph the moon with my camera. An ordinary single-lens reflex camera using colour film. I said yes, he laughed. I of course said 'what would convince you?' Which usually shuts up those unable to think, or as in this case, he'd backtrack, but he wanted me to do it and fail, that kind of guy. So we met up (a good sign), and I talked him through it. On an airfield at night, a tripod, ordinary SLR camera, two extension tubes, and a mundane 400mm lens normally used to take pictures of aircraft in flight at airshows, we looked for and found the nearly-full moon, I set up, invited him to look through the viewfinder. 'It's actually moving' He said. 'Yep, the Earth turns, the Moon moves as well, it adds up to visible movement, but normally it's like the hands of a clock, let time pass, and you'll notice it's moved'. 'Uhh...' He looked almost convinced, so I said 'look at it again'. The moon was half out-of-shot. 'Undo this, turn the camera until the moon's in the centre of shot, set exposure for a sunny day...' 'At night?' 'You are looking at a brightly-lit object, over to the left side it's in dark, it's own shadow, like we are at the moment, see how the two line up?' Then we took a picture. Two days later I had been able to process the neg and make a print for him. A six-by-four with the moon in the centre of shot and showing bright and dark areas. - and one bright spot like a crater. He was happy. That was in the 1980s. I fear today his equivalent would brain me with my tripod and run away screaming and hide in a cave.

I’ve had a super unique experience where I was looking at Jupiter and Saturn in the same field of view with a large cardboard dobsonian/manual telescope (when they were super close a year or two ago). I was looking in and out of the eyepiece over the course of a minute, and just by sheer random chance, I saw something transit right between the planets quite quickly. I looked at the sky and saw a light passing across. My instinct told me that it was the ISS (based on the speed it was going, which I had witnessed a few times before). I managed to manually track it with my scope (which was quite difficult), and sure enough I could just make out the distinct shape and trusses. Just to confirm, I got out the SkyView app to see what it was, and it confirmed that it was the ISS. I couldn’t believe it. Absolutely no planning. All I wanted to look at were the planets close together. And to somehow witness a transit BETWEEN Saturn and Jupiter, from my specific location in Australia, at some random time of night. I had only been outside looking for a minute or two. Two seconds before or after and I would have missed it. What are the chances…. Just crazy… definitely a special moment.

If you are below it's orbital inclination in latitude, which is 51.6 degrees at present, it is guaranteed to pass within at most 5.625 degrees of longitude from you. That is a worst case scenario of passing 300 miles east of you, then 300 miles west of you, at the equator. It's worst case distance from you will shrink as you more in latitude away from the equator. Most days it will be something like 200 close 400 far approach though, rather than perfectly bracketing you, and you very likely could see it above the horizon every day. Remember, it's 250 miles up, so even the worst case 300 is still well within your horizon, and it will only be 390 miles away from you. It's just a question of can you see through that much atmosphere, and is it lit right for whatever timing it had for you that 24 hour period.

@@ASDeckard Oh, yes, of course. Definitely not hard to spot the ISS in general. I think I was just shocked that I had managed to see it transit between the planets. This was during the ‘Great Conjunction’ of December 2020. Saturn and Jupiter were only a fifth of the moon’s diameter apart when I was looking, and the fact that the ISS had transited between them (out of the whole night sky and without planning) was just sheer luck. If someone had planned to witness this, they most likely would have had to travel somewhere fairly close to my location. Always fun to see the ISS either way, and give the astronauts a wave, haha.

We didn't evolve from monkeys on a non consistent cartoon ball seeing the same stars and constellations since the dawn of man where sea level is called sea level for a reason where the north star is stationary. Not including the false equation for curvature eight inches per mile squared doesn't fit into the 24901 mile circumference. Nobody believes in make believe, water pools, Hollywood and cgi. Freemasonry and secret societies exist in every nation. The mental illness is from people like you that can't comprehend what is real from made up Hollywood propaganda to slave the minds of their slaves to keep them enslaved. The photo is upside down to make fun of the ridiculous ball having land mass thats supposed to upside down in real-time. Which in reality it doesn't exist because earth is a flat plane not a cartoon ball. The body of water doesn't have any land masses in it because it's a body of water. Representing that water is level. Nothing can ever change that. You stand on the earth which is flat. Like playing a video game. A flat open world with terrain. Similar to the flat world we are currently in. There are no Sattelites, that's why they keep building cell phone towers and radio towers. GPS works by the triangulation of three cell phone towers bouncing a signal from the source revealing its location, similar to sonar. Nobody will ever find live feed of any "Sattelites" showing my neighborhood in real-time. Google earth is computer generated until you zoom in then it's aerial photos taken by airplane, not sattelites. Television, cellphones, internet signals work with the same radio/ cell towers grid hooked up to a landline communication cables that also hook under the ocean to the other countries keeping us all connected called the Trans Atlantic communication cables paid for by at&t. This is all documented for the public to see. I'm not the bafoon here. I think the guy who believes he evolved from a 🐒 here has a low iq, similar to someone who has down syndrome. This Karman line you ignorantly speak of is called the horizon and no matter how high you ascend, the horizon will always remain level with your eye level. Limiting the amount of distance you can see from your perspective. Once again you can't see the Antarctica wall, something that's thousands of miles away to be visible at your perspective. Perspective is limited, you can't see forever. I'm sorry I had to explain that to you. Ever play a video game? The world's flat, how's come they can't see forever in the flat game world? 🤔 All Sattelite photos except for the cgi film room ones are from high aerial footage by airplanes, even the spy planes. Just like the Cuban missile crisis the United States flew over Cuba with spy planes to take pictures at a high altitude of military objects. Which the same photos today science would call them Sattelites footage, what a joke. The 4th photo with Polaris explains that Polaris doesn't move, hence the name north star. It doesn't move and never will. Which is pretty much impossible through a vast endless space vacuum seeing the same stars more than one time is very unlikely. When you have perfect timing and cycles. That's way to perfect to even think of mental retardation. Nothing from "space" moves because there is no space. This is it. Well other realms. By Norse mythology there are 9 realms. Just no space. There is no equator. Unless you think of the bullseye 🎯 flat earth map. Then if you follow the equator, anything from the north/ center is south. Correct? Correct. Of course once again vision is limited by perspective so you are not going to see north star from a great distance just like a tall sky scraper from New York when leaving out to see. Everything dissappear from distance. I found these factors by my own brain. Nobody woke me up to flat earth, in fact I was the guy pushing it since 2014 through random fb comments like I'm doing now. I have done plenty of so called experiments and it's all common sense. The math even disproves the globe model pushed by the ones who gave us the math. How about that. You are talking out of ignorance because you don't know a damn thing. Your 21 years old. Wow fresh out of public school system. Even I knew better at 21 than you. I wouldn't brag about being a monkey evolved indoctrinated idiot. I would be embarrassed. "Why haven't I tested experments". Here's one for you a bonfire lights up the surrounding area, just like the sun does when it moves. Also when you put a camera on the ground and walk away from it. Your legs dissappear first before the top half of your body. Similar to the sun "setting". By your ignorance you have done not one ounce of research into your own cartoon model. There is nothing false about flat earth. You didn't even respond to what I have said in the main paragraph and going to say false. You can't disprove a damn thing I said. The only shape and texture that's on flat earth is the terrain that's on it. Nobody knows how much flat earth weighs and we do know the deepest hole ever dug was from Russia and that's only 7 miles. So Nasa already assumed that there I the inner core, outer core and mantle which is hilarious. No flat earth has been around and will always be around. This globe lie started 200 years ago.

About a year and a half ago (as I was walking to my car to go to work), I saw a point of light streaking across the sky in a smooth, south-easterly trajectory. I wasn't sure what it was at first, but when I got to work, I went online to see if the ISS flight pattern went over my area. Lo and behold, it did at approximately the same time I saw it earlier in the morning. So, it is visible to the naked eye in the right conditions. 👍

Yeah, a few years ago, my wife & I were out walking and we noticed a fast-moving light and wondered out loud what it was. A neighbor walking behind us informed us that it was ISS--he had been tracking it for a while online and that day was an ideal day to see it for our location. It was a nice "ya had to be there" moment.

My older brother talked me into the Flat Earth thing, a few years ago. I was determined that, it was actually flat after looking at a few videos. But because I love SciFi so much, I've decided to watch videos on both sides. Bought a telescope of my own (pretty cheap one), it got the job done. 1. The moon clearly wasn't transparent. Debunked that on my own. 2. Seen countless videos of the ISS going by doing its thing and showed my brother. He wasn't too interested. Oh well. Not arguing. Those 2 things alone made me swiftly covert back after just one year. Then, I recently seen a video here were someone made a basketball look flat by zooming in on it level. Earth isn't flat.

Yeah airplanes do fly.

I have captured the space station not as clear as yours but clear enough to show the rectangular solar sales, with a basic Sigma 550mm lens without waiting for a transit. I live at high altitude with clear skies so I mounted my SLR and lens loose on my tripod, balanced the weight, and I just panned along with it as it passed over. It takes several minutes to pass from horizon to horizon so there was plenty of time to get a shot lined up. I had to zoom and crop to get the final image though. With a bigger lens and zoom, obviously it would be more difficult to track but still doable.
