Consequences - A Half-Life: Alyx Short [S2FM]
Ойындар
I honestly didn't think I'd live to see another Half-Life game, and what a heckin' game it turned out to be. Thank you Valve for this absolute masterpiece, and for the tools which allow us to scratch that creative itch.
This was my very first time using Source Filmmaker, so feedback on this is greatly appreciated.
It's a really long and meticulous process using S2FM but I immensly enjoy it. And so I think it's safe to say that more like this (and maybe perhaps possibly a longer voice acted short film) is coming your way... Preferably within 2021 but who knows.
Please enjoy :)

Half Life truly is a terrifying plot. The idea of the 7 hours war happening and all the upturned lives as the combine (or whatever the grand interdimensional empire is called) invaded is a solid horror dystopia set up

Yeah, I love the Half-Life games, but its definitely one of those universes that I'm really glad I don't live in. First came the Resonance Cascade/Black Mesa Incident, which lead to portal storms and alien fauna and flora infesting the earth. People fled their rural homes to pack into cities guarded by the military. Then the Combine came along, conquering the entire planet in a mere seven hours. The most horrifying thing to think about when it comes to the 7 Hour War, is that the Combine didn't come with the intention of conquering humanity. They came to tie up loose ends (the Nihilanth). So they didn't show up and start rounding people up, they came and started slaughtering people. To the Universal Union, mankind was so insignificant in their biology and technological advancements that they were deemed useless, until Dr. Breen made a deal with them and showed them that man had developed localized teleportation (the Combine can only teleport from one dimension to another). And if the Combine are able to open another super portal, Earth is done for.

@@kcayos3970 note that when Breen uses the term "universal union" it's not capitalized, so it's probably his description of the Combine. Also both him and Combine's own propaganda use the term Combine officially. There are posters and signs that say "CMB" all over City 17 and Nova Prospekt

North America had become completely uninhabitable even by Combine standards as a result of it being ground zero during the invasion. By Half Life 2 the entire continent of North America and the majority of South America had been made inhospitable by the invasive Xen ecosystem and the United States nuking themselves in an attempt at stopping its spread to the rest of the world. Then came the 7 Hours War which destroyed all chances of remaining human life on the continent. I am going off of pure memory so if I got anything wrong (it’s likely that I did) then feel free to correct me.

This reminds me of how much I want to see the greater Half-Life story continued. HL:A was amazing from a gameplay perspective, but it was very much a side-story that's only significant to Alyx and the people surrounding her. (And it also establishes the rules of time travel in the Half-Life universe, so that's cool I guess.)
@eternal7912

I wouldn't say HLA is a side story. Alyx is one of the main characters who drive the plot of Half-Life, and with the ending of HLA, what little we thought we knew about HL3 has been blown out of the water.

@@transitcombine9057 hi, good videos so far
The Half-Life series has to be one of the best stories ever made in a digital, interactive format. If not of the pseudo-modern age to now. With a fantastic balance of humor to even out the very detailed and dystopian hellscape the world has become, with more intrigue and mysteries than you can shake a crowbar at. I hope Gabe lives to see the day Half-Life gets its final ending, with a roar of applause and cheer from old and new fans alike, with his legacy permanently situated in the corridors of history forevermore.
I'd love to see a Half-Life spin off game set in America somewhere between HL1 and 2. The big X on North America on that globe definitely has my curiosity piqued. I'm just imagining a wasteland of alien fungi-stuff. The ruins of cities covered in bulbous growths, forests choked to death by the invasive alien flora. Could make for an interesting open world RPG set in the Half-Life universe.

And maybe a new combine soldier that has the hazmat gear but implemented into standard grunt armour from HL:A and yellow and you can team up with them after gaining there trust since the North American combine got split off from the rest of the combine after the unwilling combine soldiers got flooded with memories that made them kill there commanders who were still indulged in the combine propaganda and you can make colonies so it’s basically fallout:half life i edition
