Consequence on Kanye West, Ghostface vs. Bone Thugs, Pusha T, Drake, Jay-Z, Cam'ron (Full Interview)
In this full-length interview, NYC-based rap veteran, Consequence talks about his upbringing in St. Albans, Queens, and San Diego on the West Coast. He details the high standards his parents set and the ties that his grandfather and uncles had to the criminal lifestyle. As the talk moves along, the former collaborator of A Tribe Called Quest talks about the impact of losing his grandmother to Leukemia at the age of twelve and how that experience set him on the path toward writing rap songs. He also explains how he settled on his stage name.
Later in the Q&A session, Consequence reflects back on getting signed, making music with the late J Dilla and iconic artists such as SWV and Busta Rhymes before sharing how a project that was intended to be his debut album ended up being an EP.

This was a pretty good interview.
Absolutely loved Cons approach to this interview. He came in and was breaking down things in away that bridged the perspective between him and Vlad. He came in to this interview fully committed and delivered ❤.
He takes too long to answer questions I didn't have the patience to finish this interview.

Very interesting life of Cons... i heard his verses when i was young for years and loved them, quoted them but didnt know who he was or that they was from one rapper- funny to find out all those "MCs" was the same dude.

I lived in St. Albans/Cambria Heights for a majority of my life…I hate when these guys try to make it out like it’s the hood. Just keep the shit real…we grew up middle class.

Beats, Rhymes, Life is Tribe's best album due to J. Dilla and Consequence as a piece of the puzzle. But, Consequence is not great as a solo artist. He lacks that star quality. He has accolades from his work behind the scenes, but going solo was not his thing. All this time in the business and he's still not a household name. He needs to stop getting into it with the people who did the most to help him in his career. They respect his talent, but he has to learn how to be a good soldier. Definitely a talented lyricist. Those who know, definitely know. Nice to see him looking his best and doing well.

Was decent interview til the Kanye Question came up near the end. That's when Consequence started soft-shoeing, avoiding candor and talking in circles. It was pathetic. Vlad even dissed him calling him Kanye's friend thus rendering him incapable of being objective. Consequence didn't catch it.
